PASSED NCLEX on 3rd attempt!!
JUST DON'T GIVE UP!!!!! You can do this :) I wanted to give up so badly and just forget that I ever tried, but as I was thinking of what other career options might interest me I felt that nothing came close to how I felt when I was in the hospital taking care of people. This is what I want to do, this is what I love to do and I eventually told myself that I will take the test as many times as I have to, and I will hand over the money for the review materials and courses (even though it hurt and cut deep into my pockets!) because I would rather pay off my debt slowly over my lifespan while doing something that I truly love! Stay positive and I will be praying for you!! I as well was not a very good student, I often felt like I was stupid for not knowing the answer to a question in class or in clinicals but It just takes some people a little longer to get there. I actually failed out of my first med/surge class in my PN year and struggled through my RN year. I thought I was a gonner when I got a pthetic 50% on my respiratory test at the end of my RN year but managed to pull it up to a low B and graduate. We graduated so we can do this :)

PASSED NCLEX on 3rd attempt!!
I doubted myself too, even after I got home and did PVT and got the good pop up. After two times of failing I wasn't sure what confident felt like. I got my quick results and was so relieved to see PASS that I still didn't believe it, I think it will set in once I get my license :) GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU PASSED!

PASSED NCLEX on 3rd attempt!!
@nanajin Just don't give up!! I don't know what you are using for study materials but I used Hurst, Exam Cram, lacharity, Mosby's flash cards, and NCLEX 4000. I would do one subject at a time. Hurst broke it down into sections and I would watch their video, read the packet that I filled out along with the video, read their book then I went to my other study materials and focused only on that subject and when I was done I used NCLEX 4000 and Saunders CD and tested myself on just the one subject. When I felt good with it I moved on. You can do this, you graduated nursing school for a reason! :)

PASSED NCLEX on 3rd attempt!!
@sister7755 To be honest I never found a way to study SATA, I just tried to learn as much content as I could so that when I got SATA I hoped that it was something I was familiar with. Sometimes they seemed pretty easy but I did get a few that I had absolutely no idea. Sorry I can't be more helpful

Just took NCLEX RN for 3rd time...when can I do PVT??
I used Kaplan before I took it the second time. My scores indicated that I would do good but because I was week in content I never really got to the higher level questions and stayed there long enough. Hurst was amazing and I highly recommend it, Kaplan strategies are ok but to be honest when I tested this last time I didn't use any of there strategies and passed at 81 questions.

PASSED NCLEX on 3rd attempt!!
I have to admit that at one point I thought I might as well look into another career because I felt so dumb and always unprepared but things turned around for me. I graduated in May 2011 and tested the following August, 265 ?'s and 5 1/2 hours later I failed it and was devastated. That Sept. I signed up for Kaplan after a friend had passed with Kaplan and I was so excited to see my readiness test score of 72 because I knew that anything over 60 was good. I tested in January 2012 again (on my birthday of all days) and I felt so confident, I sat down with a huge smile on my face that quickly faded after the first 5 questions and again 265 ?'s and 6 hours later I failed again. This time I was heart broekn, I went in so confident and prepared and I knew I could finally pass but I let my emotions get the best of me and flat out started to cry during the test...it was pathetic really, but I knew what the outcome would be. After taking 6 months off and not doing any studying I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. A friend of mine told me about Hurst and how it helped her so I told myself one more time, I will give it my best effort and try it one more time. I signed up for Hurst and scheduled my test to give myself a deadline. When it got close I started to panic again, I went in completely nervous and had no idea what to expect. I was shocked when I was getting questions that seemed too easy to be NCLEX worthy but as they started to get harder I knew that I was doing something right. I got 17 SATA and once the test kept going after 75 ?'s I immediately flashed back to that feeling of dreading the full 265 ? test I took some deep breathes told myself to get comfy and after wasting 2 hours on the first 75?'s I felt rushed and stupid for taking my time to try and get more right. Then right after a mini break down I hit next after question 81 and it went blue...I was stunned and then remembered that we get the option to take a break after 2 hours and I knew I was right at the 2 hour mark but then the exit survey came up and I was SHOCKED!!! You couldn't wipe the smile off my face, I threw my hand in the air and flipped off the computer in a "I screwed you over this time" celebratory moment and walked out feeling good. My whole point is after all the stress and struggle if you can find what works for you, anyone can pass NCLEX!! DON'T GIVE UP, don't feel like you are not worth it, and believe in yourself :)

Just took NCLEX RN for 3rd time...when can I do PVT??
I am so anxious/nervous/xcited/scared/and hopeful at this point! The first two time I tested I had all WYT ?'s and failed with all near passing results and I leterally cried during the test each time. I tested during the week and did PVT each time with an obvious fail. This time however after taking hurst I felt more confident, had 81 ?'s which luckily for me was a lot of stuff I felt familiar with 15 SATA. when it shut off I was in shock and excited at the same time so I flipped the computer the bird and thanked him for his time...hoping that doesnt bite me in the butt :) the proctor enjoyed it though. Can I still do the PVT on a saturday and get accurate results with that or do I need to wait the 48 hours?? I will check in 48 hours anyway I just want some sort of hope of passing this time.

Best way to use Hurst??
I am using Hurst now after failing with Kaplan. So far I LOVE it!!! Not only is it more content based which is what I need, but the videos keep you interested as opposed to Kaplan's monotone videos. I am following along with the videos in filling out the worksheets now, I am only about 4 lessons into the program. I want to know what is the best way to use this program to my advantage? Should I watch the videos, fill out the worksheets and just review them, then do questions? I feel like I won't be very successful because I have heard that the Hurst questions are nothing like NCLEX. Any suggestions for using Hurst would be great!! I am signed up for NCLEX on Sept. 28 and would love to pass on my third attempt! :)

Failed twice...anyone try hurst??
Sounds like I made the right choice to try Hurst! Content is where I need the help and Kaplan didn't provide that for me very well, hoping the two combined will end in positive results! Good luck Begosh and Hope!!

Failed twice...anyone try hurst??
Thank you!! I am so glad that it seems like it will help me with my content. I feel like if I can do well with content then Kaplan's decision tree can help me with the rest.

Failed twice...anyone try hurst??
First off I will give you my history. I graduated my RN year in May 2011 took boards in August and failed after 265 ?s, although I did kind of expect that because my study tools were a box of flash cards and my books from that year including NCLEX test prep. I then signed up for Kaplan because I heard amazing things about it, and after a long time of no videos playing they gave me the free 3 month renewal so I had Kaplan for 6 months and at the end I had a diagnostic test score of 68 and I was pumped because I found a website that said I had a 98% chance of passing boards. Well I took them again in January 2012 and failed AGAIN after 265 ?s. Needless to say this time I was more devastated and wanted to give up. I thought if Kaplan can't help me what can! I took a short break and now I am studying again with Exam Cram, Saunders, La Charity, Kaplan book, and NCLEX 4000. I feel a little overwhelmed with all these different materials and a friend of mine asked me if I had thought about hurst. I have not heard of hurst at all and I was wondering what other people thought of it. I am assuming it is most likely my content that is my downfall since Kaplan said I had it in the bag question wise. Anyone out there that has used hurst, knows someone who used hurst, or is using hurst???? I really want to see how it has helped others before I buy into it.

Is ATI worth the money??
I'm almost positive my problem is content. I know that sounds stupid because I should know these things by now, but I have run into a lot of questions where I was like "What the heck is this question about??" and I would sit there for a while just trying to remember what it was I was looking at. Have you used Hurst or NCSBN?? how do you sign up for NCSBN? I went to the website and I was totally confused, then again it may not have been the right website.
