Best travel companies

I'm sure this has been discussed a million times before, but do people have suggestions for good travel nursing companies to work with? I'm starting to think about taking my first travel job and see so many mixed reviews of different companies.

Getting confused. I work in an ambulatory surgery setting, all ortho at the present but have general surgery experience too. Thanks

I have tried to get an assignment with Nightengale, but have not been successful. Thank you for the info on AYA. I actually started my travel career with them...as Access Nurses...3 yrs ago but the only assignment they ever arranged for me was with Kern Med Center in Bakersfield, CA. After 6 mo there, I moved on to another agency...Mediscan. The only problem is that Mediscan only has assignments in CA. I would like to go to the East Coast, specifically NY, but I am getting no where with finding an assignment in NY. I am a Case Manager.

Also, with Access Nurses...they did not provide a television or a microwave. For those items you were charged a monthly rental fee. Ridiculous!

Specializes in Postpartum, Antepartum, Psych., SDS, OR.

I take my own, including linens, all cooking utinsels and supplies, rugs, and even my shower curtain. A vacc was provided. W/D, D/W, range and ref were provided.

Looked at a few companies and Cross Country was the only one with something I was interested in. Have any advice before I apply..... Pros and/or cons? Thank you.

They have got too big for their boots. My recruiter has been "brainwashed" by superiors, or is it that she has been there so long, that she has the company way engrained in her. I have had reason to call and complain about my current assignment, she gives me the impression that she is on my side, but ultimately, Cross Country's interests come first.

I have heard from other travelers that they know someone who asked for the "extra" somthing at Cross Country and got it ... not me. I am looking to switch out from them after many years ..especially now that they have once again changed who runs their 401K .. much to our detriment.
