Stay hydrated at work. It will keep you alert. When you get a refill for your water bottle, fill up a coworkers' bottle too.

Follow your gut, don't discriminate as everyone has there own story and you don't know everything about them. Provide each and every patient with excellent care. Always look for ways to learn and improve. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you are unfamiliar with something, it's better to ask and do it right then end up with a bad outcome. Keep growing and follow your heart. Be a teamplayer and go above and beyond with everything you do. BE AN EXCELLENT NURSE!!!

Treat all nurses how you want to be treated

Always plan for the worst!

Always keep an extra set of scrubs in your locker or car, you never know what may happen during your shift.

Offer support to even the unkind collegue. You'd be surprised to know what most of us struggle with in not only our work lives but our personal lives. There is no reason we can't support and help each other!

Be the mama bear for your patient. Don't let the doctors or anyone else do anything without going through you first! You are that patients advocate and anything that goes wrong will fall onto your license unfortunately.

Parents know their children the best, LISTEN TO THEM!

If they aren't breathing, nothing else matters.

Trust your instincts and above all else...take care of yourself!

Communication, keeping your word, being on time and being a good team player will take you far and get respect from others. Eat healthy, quickly and keep hydrated so you can continue your care of orhers. Stay true to yourself and your family.

Don't be afraid to challenge a doctor...9 out of 10 times you are correct...remember you are your patients advocate!
