Best Shoes for Nurses

Published

I've always been a New Balance Girl but lately my feet have been aching. I'm really wanting to know if there are any shoes people swear by for the 12 hour shifts?

I had to switch from Nikes and Skechers to Dansko's for horrible foot pain. It is much, much better now.

I also just got a new pair of danskos, had tried nikes for a bit at my new job but my legs and feet were so tired after a shift. Much improved with the Danskos. I will of course give my standard Danskos warning, I do occasionally roll my ankle in them, mostly if I'm walking somewhere in a rush, I work in an ICU environment though so I'm no breezing up and down long hallways. If I was I worry it would happen more often.

Have you tried custom orthotics? They have helped more than a few people I know- and you can put them in any shoes you want. Pricy- but what price do you put on working pain-free?

I prefer Alegria. Pricey$$ however They are so nice and comfy. I own 2 pair. Even though they look heavy and bulky. I am pleased with the comfort and my feet no longer hurts. Before I use to wear Allwear and my Nikes and Reebox don't cut it for me either.
