As we are all so aware how very difficult if can be to recruit staff let's start a thread of ideas used. I sure could use some new ones! Thank you everyone

The best recruiting strategy is to create a workplace where nurses have the resources they need, feel valued, have some control over their work life, and are fairly compensated. End of story.

Now I'm just thinking off the top of my head here, but maybe, j u s t maayybeee, one might be able to attract (and even **keep**, what a thought!!!) Staff if there were enough of them hired in the first place.
Dunno... it could work, ya know.
Well said Mean Mary Jane...that is the goal (or should be) of every facility!
Exactly ponymom.....maybe I just live in an area where there isn't enough Nurses....all of our facilities in my area use staffing agencies to stay staffed, compensation and benefits is pretty equal....moral...well you hear the stories of each place but sometimes the source is or isn't credible...so that is hard to judge.

Think about what would attract you. Good pay/ benefits are the big ones. A good working environment... Good leadership, manageable staffing ratios, etc

1 - facility representation at any local job fairs
2 - recruitment liason (sp?) with local SONs personnel dept
3 - regular periodic own facility open house
4 - visit local SONs to speak to classes re job opp'ties
5 - referral bonuses to current staff
OP - is this what you're requesting?
