Best Plus Sized Scrubs?

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Can anyone recommend some comfortable plus sized scrubs? I am having a horrible time trying to find any that fit right. I am 5'10". I usually run around a 22/24. My main problem is that I have a large chest and my father's broad shoulders. Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I buy my scrubs from Marcus uniforms. Go to their website, http://www.marcusuniforms.com

If you buy $100 in scrubs, it is free shipping. It is easy to do. I wear cherokee brand, I love them, they last a long time.

I just ordered- and recieved 3 days later from mynursinguniforms.com

They also have the free shipping when you order over 100$.

Check out the Dickies W Line Sweetheart Tunic Top (Plus Sizes)trans_1x1.gif It has ample room up front and gives coverage in the rear too.

I am also a Landau fan- I fell and hurt my knee- had to have 4 stitches- but the pants didnt rip... Cherokee- I have problems with seams with them- I had to reinforce all of the pants- even though they were not really tight. But I love all the pockets.

"loveallsellall," an eBay seller, sells handmade plus sized scrubs that fit well and are attractive. The sizes go up pretty high, well past 3x. I've just ordered two more sets. An odd company called Med-Vet Supply carries some scrubs, but the sizes are hit and miss. They are way cheap, though, so it's worth an occasional eBay visit. I've also gotten some decent scrubs from a company called U.S. Scrubs. Unfortunately, the Army-Navy store that carried them has gone out of business. I'd be interested in any more ideas folks have.

I have thick thighs and I'm hippy. Does anyone have advice for scrub pants that don't "pill" up after thigh rubbing.

OMG i love this website so much!!! I have been complaining FOREVER that plus sized never scrubs fit me!!!

The 3x pants that I get are rediculous...the crotch is almost down to the knees, and yet if i get the 2x size, its way too tight on my butt and i have to worry about busting the back seam when bending down (as we frequently do LOL!) Again with the tops...the 3x tops fit ok except they are tight around my arms and my chest, but the next size up basically fits like a dress. It bugs me not only becasue I have to keep rolling up and pulling up the 3x pants all shift, but also i like to look neat an professional at work...as yes, sadly i do feel that your image in nursing does reflect what kind of quality of care that bosses and clients think that you give...aka if you look like a slob then sometimes people precieve that you obviously give sloppy or incompetent care, so of course I feel like i have to work harder and be sharper on the job the just to get the same respect in nursing is someone normal weight....and i never felt this way in other non medical industries. of course many kind people today are not jerks and dont care what you look like...but I have felt specifically in the field of nursing that it seems to be more acceptable to discriminate against obease people...maybe they think that if you dont take care of yourself the you obviously couldn't have the skill and knowledge to take care of them. This is of course BS. What people dont consider when they are casting judgements is that I could be eating a perfect 1000cal diet with fruits and veggies, and working out everyday ect, but im still going to be overweight..that cant change overnight. Anyone else ever feel this way?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! I love Dickies, but have never found anything other than the plain tops/bottoms. I just placed an order w/ them. Now to figure out how to explain to hubby why there's a big dip in the checking account...lol

For those of you that ordered-

How is the sizing? I am right in between 2 sizes based on my measurements & would appreciate any input. Do they shrink after washing some?

Thanks!!

I used to wear a 5X top and bottom. This store carries a wide variety of colors, styles and brands from Landau to Dickey. They have outlets in certain areas and quick delivery also.

I am 5-10, and well over 300lbs.

I found that the Dickies brand of plus sized unisex scrubs works the best for me, especially the pants. Awesome assortment of colors are available, and most will work if you have to wear something specific for your department. The only complaint I have with the pants is one pocket just doesn't help. Most online uniform stores will carry them. I would just shop around a little for the best prices- I've seen as much as a five or six dollar difference in price between the different sites.

Some online stores with embroider for a fee (if you want to make them a little more 'girly'), or you can sew/iron embroidered patches on them yourself to personalize them.

Cherokee's are the best!!! I carry all my weight in my hips & thighs too :crying2: But the pants fit very well, way better than the Dickies pants I've tried. Dickies is great for tops though, very very comfortable & cute.

I'm so glad you guys posted this thread, I have had trouble all my life with scrubs. Even with my job, I could choose to wear scrubs or business-casual and I chose dressy clothes because I knew they would fit appropriately. But the convenience and ease of scrubs is really what I want... I will hopefully begin nursing school this Fall and am nervous about the uniforms. From what I see, it will be a blue top and white bottoms. I'm an 18 (hopefully will be slimmer by the time NS rolls around) and I don't belong in white pants! lol Especially since they are see-through! Anyway, besides color, my problem is that my scrub tops are always snug in the back when I put my arms forward and snug in the hips/butt in the bottoms (thanks, daddy for those fine attributes! ;) My mom is Asian, why couldn't she pass her stature on to me?! lol). If I go up a size, I look absolutely ridiculous everywhere else and even look like I've gained weight! So not the look I'm going for! What do you do to combat the ill-fitting scrub world without dealing with too-large clothes?
