Best online RN to BSN program....CHEAP?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Updated:   Published

I have been a RN for about 1 1/2 years now and am starting to look towards going back and getting my BSN. I need something online since I work full time and have children, but also something that is inexpensive. What has been your experience with getting your

BSN online? Do you have to do any clinicals and if so how does that work? Are there any programs to help financially?

Have a wonderful new year and thank you for your responses.:D

I'm attending Nightingale College's online RN-to-BSN Program. I've loved the program, they have a capstone project that focuses on improving healthcare for your employer. My project dramatically lowered the infection rate in my unit and has put me on the fast track to become the next DON. The program got accredited in 2017 and has a $375/semester credit. I had all my GE's done from another degree and finished in 8 months (2 semesters). It cost me 9k for the program. They don't have clinicals but do have this capstone (but it was amazing for my career). I would highly recommend you check it out: RN-to-BSN Bridge Program - Nightingale College.

I wish you the best, a BSN is worth it!

Your best bet is going to be finding a university in your state that offers the bridge program. Stick with in-state tuition if you want the most bang for your buck. I don't know of any better way to save thousands.

My bridge program has 2 classes that requires clinical hours. A grand total of 45 hours each! Doable!! I pay under $3k for 9 credits every semester and am paying as I go. Tight, but doable. I have a little pell grant left and I also have a little help paying for it, so I'm grateful for that. Might check with some of the hospitals in your area. Perhaps you even work for one now. There's a good chance they will offer a program to help pay for your education if you sign a contract to work for them for x amount of years after completion. Good luck

Does anyone know about Aspen University RN-BSN? I know it consists of 10 courses, and it is on an 8 week rotation. Once you complete the program you have to take a Procter Exam which the testing site gives you 4 hours to complete; it is Pass/Fail.

Has anyone enroll in this program, and taken the Procter Exam?

Thx

I am going to start with Aspen soon. They alsohave a 0% interest private loan at $250/month for 43 months. Totally worth it! This way I won't have college debt at the end!
