Best book to study with

I have failed the Nclex 2 times. I took the Kaplain review and obviously it did not help me even though I thought it did. What book or program should I try now? :crying2:

What about using Saunders Comprehensive Nclex Review, 4th edition. Get some DVDs from ATI and feuer review. Hope you pass the next time.

Lippincotts Q & A 9th Edition has tons of questions and a CD. And Saunders COmprehensive 4th Edition is good for content review.

I have not passed twice as well. I am using Saunders 4th edition, but am also doing the first part of Suzannes plan. The info is on the sticky at the top of the page. You might want to check that out...she has an excellent pass rate. Good luck! ;)

I completer the Saunders book. I cant figure out what and where a sticky is and how to e mail Suzzane for the rest of the plan. Can you help me?

no problem....here is the sticky. it tells you exactly what to do for the first part of the plan. you have to send her a pm(personal message) after you complete this, you need 15 posts (you have 17, so you're good). when you message her after you complete the first part, you need to have a test date scheduled. i hope this helps.

there have already been more than 18,000 hits on my plan for the revised edition that i decided to update a few things and make it easier to follow, so please bear with me and follow exactly what is being posted here.

i work a full-time job and do this as a volunteer, so please be respective of my time.

1. please complete the first tip before contacting me. unable to do a thing until that is done. all of the instructions are given and are easy to understand and it uses only the book, not the cd. the quizzes that it speaks about are the ones at the end of the chapters, there is also no mention of the comprehensive exam, so no reason to do that as well.

2. only book that is used is the saunder's comprehensive review for the nclex-rn (4th edition) or the for the nclex-pn exam, the 3rd edition.

that is all that you need to be using and actually everything else needs to be put away.

3. send info to me via allnurses private message (pm) system: list e-mail address, as well as date testing need to be placed in the subject line. no exceptions to this, if not there, then one will not be added to my list. mailings only go to your e-mail address, too long for the pm box here.

i get hundreds of pms per week and you need to make it easy for me to handle. i am no longer going to be sending pms out requesting this information, if not there, then the pm gets deleted.

4. mailings are only done every two weeks, i never do any individual mailings, so do not expect something to be sent to you as soon as you request it. just not going to happen.

5. mailings are also never sent out more than 2 months before your test date, so if not testing for five months, please do not request my program now.

6. there is only mailing that goes out, you will not be receiving anything additional from me, just what you get with that one mailing and the six attachments.

7. the first tip that is posted here is only a review and is not my program, there is a full 45 day program that gets sent out my me; and if you do not have the required time, then it is not going to be sent. never make any exceptions to this rule, never have and never will. then it would not be my program. you also never want to be preparing up until the day of the exam, your brain needs time to let things sink in, and this is even more important if a retake.

8. all requests must go to my pm box that we have here, they are never accepted at my e-mail address.

9. my program takes a full 45 days to complete, and you never should be preparing up until the day of the exam. your brain needs time to just rest and let everything absorb. cramming does not work for this exam, nor does memorizing. you must learn and understand the material as you want it to stay with you for your entire career. this is how i prepare people for the exam, and never make any exceptions to it. so if you have only ten days before the exam, or even a month, i am not going to be able to help you. you need to meet my requirements, it does not go the other way around.

10. please be aware that you must have 15 posts before you can access the pm function that we have here if you are not a premium member. it will be impossible to send a pm to me until that time, and requests are only accepted via that. thanks for your understanding on this.

11. format to be used when sending your information to me, and please use this format:

which exam are you sitting for? rn or the pn.

have you tested before? if so, when?

graduation date.

is the first tip actually completed? unable to do a thing until it is done.

date of exam as well as e-mail address need to go to the subject line.

saunder's comprehensive review for the nclex-rn or the pn exam.

latest edition required if you want the new format questions, suggest that you get this version.

now for the review, which is the first tip, and there is a complete six week program that comes only from me once this is done.

1. you are to complete the quiz at the end of each and every chapter.

2. do not read the chapter first.

3. if you get 75% or more on the quiz, then go onto the next chapter, if you get less, then read the chapter and your score should now be over 90%.

simple as that for the review. if you know the material, you can complete it in just a couple of days, or you may need to read the chapters, and it could take you a month to complete.

if you are retaking the exam, please give yourself at least two months to prepare, if not longer. the worst thing that you can do is give yourself a deadline if you do not feel comfortable with the material in the first place.

and the other worst thing that anyone can do to prepare is to cram, and i am unable to help any of you that wish to go that route. it just does not work for the nclex exams.

When you message her, find her name on one of the messages, click on it, then click on her pic in the left corner and it will give you different options, click on pm and send her a message. She will not respond to an individual mesage. She sends out the 2nd part of the plan as a bulk mailing twice a month. I think on the 15th & around the first of every month.

Thanks. So I just try to find her picture somewhere and click on it? I am new to this site and cant figure it out. I cant get the video to work to show me how to use this site. I am not batting 1000 in any areas this week
