Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Wow thank you so much for such detailed responses... I think my husband might be able to work his schedule around my schedule and my mom watch her whil we work at night so it may not be as bad as i think... And part time daycare under 200 a week would be perfect if need be..... Do you all plan on working while in nursing school?

I know it's gonna be tough but I plan on working while in nursing school. I already have a job at a nursing home in cresskill doing recreation but I'm looking for a job in Hackensack Hospital that would pay me more. If you do plan to work I would say that it would be a good idea to work in a health care setting where you can have an "in" when you graduate because a lot of companies hire from within first before they accept any other applicants.

factor in video validations.

No problem! =)

If I get accepted, I don't plan on working at all. I'll take advantage of the summer break and work two jobs if I have to.

I plan on working but my work hours will definately be cut. Some money is better then no money and my boss is able to change my schedule aroundto days that I could work. It'll also help me pay for all the expenses if I get into the program.

DaddyO: Factor in video validations

@ DaddyO, Yes! I will definitely take that advice. Thanks for the heads up! =)

I just hope I get in.

They opened up the registration for fall... Still nothing! Ugh, I am getting nervous! How is everyone holding up?

still checking daily..today though when I clicked "Admission Status" took a lil longer than usual to load..I got excited then...let down..no change yet. :uhoh3:

it is torturous....what's taking them so long? could it be that they are waiting for the end of the semester so those whose prereqs are in process can finish them and get their grades? i don't know, according to the last year threads people got to know the results after 6 days. I just can't study for my finals, cuz my mind is on the webadvisor. ugh...

I just hope its soon. I keep telling myself that decisions will come out tomm. over and over again and its just getting tiring. Last year decisions didnt come out till end of may and i had taken my test in march. I was reading on this thread and im guessing last year they even extended the time to take the test till may 19th. Even they got their scores in about a week. Im getting nervous also. I told myself id wait till friday to check in the office to see how things are going. hopefully i wont need to do that.
