Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!
Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.
Thanks!
Question for current nursing students at bergen, Do you recommend taking 8 credits first semester or is it possible to be full time and add a couple 'bird courses'. I am not sure if being full time for the first semester is wise, but I don't want to mess around with my financial aid. I was thinking about taking a self defense class and into to french (I'm Canadian...lol).

don't understand your questions....basic is 6 cr, pharm is 1cr and assess is 1cr. factor in clinical, validations and studying and you have a pretty full daily schedule. you will have to give up some personal time to contend with the demands. getting in is challenging….staying in imo was even more.
by level 3 you may want to consider an externship and your gpa has got to be good.
take it easy, don’t set yourself up for failure.
check the earlier bcc post. approx 25% of the class will not make it on to the next level. don't be one of them.
Thank you for responding. I don't want to fail which is why i asked the question. I was considering taking French (which I've studied for years) and volleyball on top of nursing. The demand doesn't bother me, it's the extra hours that I will have to sacrifice. I have to take these courses anyway, and am trying to find the most opportune time to take them. I am taking micro and eng comp two next summer. Thoughts?
Thanks for the tip on the externship.

No problem! Two of my classmates got in as well. I am so excited! When you think about how many people apply, it's such a blessing we got in! I'm out having a margarita as we speak! Enjoy celebrating!
