Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Thanks so much!! Do they give you a periodic table for chemistry or do the problems they give you not require you to need one?

No, they don't provide a periodic table... however they do provide a calculator which is on the screen. The woman from the front desk will give you 2 magic markers, eraser and 2 pads. I had a cold and couldn't even bring my own tissue BUT they did give me a couple from the testing center.:) and one last thing before you enter the room, they ask you to pull out your pockets :)

Haha ok thanks! I'm about to take a run to the testing center now so I don't have to worry about finding it on Tuesday. Good luck to you and thanks for your help :)

How was it? Did you have a hard time finding the place? BTW, I was checking the schedule for the fall nursing program and found out they only accept 60 students... I heard from other students they accept 80-90...and now it's down to 60???? oh my :(

Did I say it was down to 60? If I did, I might of got it confused with Holy Name School of Nursing because I heard they accept 60 and BCC accepts 90. I found it yesterday so now I won't be worried looking Tuesday haha.

No, I found out on my own. I was checking the schedule for the nursing classes for fall and I noticed the amount of students per section. There's three section for level one and for each section, there's only 20 max of students allowed for each section. therefore, 3 section x 20= 60 students. I wonder why they're only accepting 60 and not 90???

not sure if things have changed....but the classes were open with 20 - 25 spots initially and more spots will open as the time goes on. Again, not sure if this is still the case or even why they do this, but this has occurred for me in Level 1 - 4. When in doubt, call the Nursing office to confirm and verify.

:thankya: Thanks DaddyO!!! =) yeah I was wondering why only 60??? from my understanding, they accept 80 or 90. I hope you're right. I will definitely confirm this with Elsa. =)

Hello and Welcome!!! =) Good luck tomorrow! At this point you should just review your notes especially on Bio and Chem. That's just my opinion. Those two section pulled down my cumulative score.

@RPatel the class average is back to 79% =)

Haha it's right back up again. Guess we really have to wait till sunday for final average..anything goes
