Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

You'll get a packet in the mail with insurance info- I'm sure they will talk about it further at orientation.

Get insurance through nso. Its only 35$ a year for nursing students

the only package i got so far was the letter I had to return accepting, my medical form, welcome letter and orientation info and financial aid. I dropped off the acceptance letter, will they open registration for me now or when I hand in my medical form?

You're able to register about a day after you hand form in. I do my physical but haven't handed forms in yet and was still able to register. That was all the info received so far.

Thanks Alyssa!! Sorry to bother..

:)

You can register before you hand in your physical forms. Those need to be handed in with all other paperwork by August 20th. I haven't had my physical yet but will be going soon. Congrats on your acceptance!!

Alyssa & Jimmy, are you available on weekdays for the CPR? Would sometime during the week of July 15 work for both of you?

I work 9-530 usually. Let me know I can take half day if necessary,

i have class and work during the weekdays. I can probably take off work on friday if need be. But during the week is really tough for me

We could probably do it on the weekend if that works best. I'll have him check the availability of ambulance corp building.

Thank you, I really appreciate that :)

Congrats to everyone who got admitted and will be starting in the Fall. I too will be joining you guys!!!! :w00t:

I was wondering if anyone can tell me which textbooks are used for level 1? I tried looking online through the BCC bookstore website, but there are a lot of options. Any books previous level 1 students recommend?

I think you need most- i believe the options are for which you prefer. Which Care plan book, which medical dictionary, which drug reference guide, etc. FYI: I bought my texts on Amazon- they were much cheaper than the bookstore!
