Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

I'm currently finishing up chem 101 for summer u and then I'll apply for the evening nursing for BCC. I didn't apply yet but does anyone know of any good books to get to study for the HESI or what portions are generally harder for most people? And how soon did you know you were accepted into the program?

Hi! I used the study guide that the bookstore in BCC had and I did pretty well. The hardest for me was the vocabulary ( since i don't like reading) but everything else was ok. There wasn't a lot of math problems in chemistry, there was a lot more definitions. And you get your results as soon as you're finish, but you have to wait till all the scores are in and the shool writes you, which was like one month?.

Good luck! I hope this helped a little

I used the Hesi study guide from Elsiver, the vocabulary is pretty much what is on the test.

I got accepted into the fall semester program,I'm originally from out of state ..i heard that BCC nursing is known for being one of the best nursing programs in the state. Is this true?

Yes it is, BCC has been a top name in nursing schools, and has a high hiring rate after graduation.

@rnhopeful1 ..oh that's great, thanks for the info!! :))

i totally forgot to pick up the access code on friday, do you think they will let me pick it up on monday?

I completely forgot too! Let me know if anyone finds out anything because I tried calling the office to find out but no one answered.

I wen Friday afternoon to pick it up and not many people had gone yet (there was a sign in sheet). I don't think it'll be a problem to pick up today. Anyone in group 2 know where we go for class on our first day since we don't have Clinicals yet (Thursday the 6th since our off day is the first day of class)

The secretary at the nursing office told me the class would meet outside of B-306.

@alyssag hey I'm in section 2..the secretary also told me to look on the bulletin board near the nursing office, they will have each level divided and what not ..also we can wear regular clothes on the first day! :))

Everyone check your moodle!!!! They posted up a lot of info already well at least sections 2. Thursday the 6th we will be meeting in room SA-109. I'm so anxious to finally start

Has anyone from section 1 heard anything? I checked Moodle and email and nothing has been posted on where we are meeting the first day. Also, are we required to wear our uniforms since it's a clinical day? I was in last Friday and nothing had been posted on the bulletin board. Any word on our nursing kits? The office had said this week.
