U.S.A. New Jersey

Hey everyone, I know its early but I was just wondering who was going to apply for the 2015 Evening Nursing program. I have attempted to apply for the 2014 day program but was denied due to the fact that my "Chemistry" prerequisite class was unacceptable. Anyways, I was hoping we could all help each other out when the time comes.

:D

Thank you! And good luck! Fingers crossed for us all

average is now 75.3

Hi everyone! I'm currently a nursing student at BCC in the Day Program, level 1. Just wanted to wish you guys good luck! I know the wait can be torturing, especially when you have to wait and find out if you got accepted. If there's anything you need, any questions or help needed don't hesitate to ask. When do you guys find out if you got in or not?

Best of luck for everyone! :nurse:

Thanks pjsweets9. How is the program so far?

You're awesome pjsweet! I have a question. Besides the time, what are differences between the day and night program?

I'm wondering and also hoping I can juggle a full time job if I do get in. Just trying to plan ahead, just in case. Thanks!

Well it's hard as everyone says it is, at the beginning I didn't feel the pressure of the program at all, but now I definitely do. It's a lot to learn in such short amount of time, but as long as you stay focused and understand what you are learning, and on top of that studying, you will do fine. Clinicals are actually a lot of fun! There is so much to see!

Riveraj8 the difference between both programs is that in the Day program you only have Spring and Fall semesters but more classes in those time frames, in comparison with the evening, you have school Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter but less classes. So with the Day Program you have breaks with the evening they're not very long. Evening is considered part-time I believe they go with one class at a time, so that's perfect for a person that has a full-time job.

do you know the clinical locations?

Hi pjsweets9! Thanks for wishing us good luck. Sooooooo nervous. The last day to take the test was yesterday the 14th. How long did it take for you to find out? I keep checking with butterflies in my stomach. Thanks for breaking down the difference between the day and evening programs.

yoonjmp Well we have 3 sections each class being around 30 student in each section. They divide each section in 4 groups, so each clinical instructor gets around 7 to 8 students, our clinical locations were in HUMC, Saint Joseph's and another one in Lakeview.

wenmoral your welcome! I know how you feel, I've been there and feels like not too long ago lol. I remember I took my HESI the first week in April and im pretty sure we found out the end of April - beginning of May, it was actually really quick.. Honestly I thought I didn't get in because I wasn't satisfied with my HESI score but then I checked and I did get in, so it was pretty shocking.

My advice to you go over a lot of nclex style question, I promise you it will help you so much to understand the questions. They can be very tricky because they will put 2 or even 3 questions that may look like the correct one but you have to think like a nurse and pick the best one according to your patient's safety

I plan on taking microbiology along with my first semesters nursing classes (if i get in). Do you think this would be too hard?

Microbiology was one of my favorite classes!i took it last spring with Professor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). He's very fair and a good teacher. The class has a lot of info, but what class doesn't. Enjoy it. I did!
