Hey everyone, I know its early but I was just wondering who was going to apply for the 2015 Evening Nursing program. I have attempted to apply for the 2014 day program but was denied due to the fact that my "Chemistry" prerequisite class was unacceptable. Anyways, I was hoping we could all help each other out when the time comes.
I found someone at Bergen who said this:
"they base their decision on your HESI score and residency only; GPA isn't considered. When I was accepted, I asked (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER TOS) in the Admissions office if they considered GPA at all and she said "no". I actually looked at the list of accepted students; we were all ranked according to our test score only. She said that Bergen Co. students also received priority consideration."
I hope this will settle your stomachs or maybe make it worse?
Either way we are all in this together and I hope everyone single one of us gets in.
I have confirmed the following with Elsa about two months ago---The HESI exam score contributes for 3/5 and GPA as the rest to mark the candidate's place on the list (e.g., Exam score: 90, GPA: 3.5 = 89). The candidate is then placed on a percentile ranking list. Furthermore, approximately 70 to 90 seats are available for each term. The program had over 300 applicants at that time.
Go to your evolve and when u see the page with your score there is a plus sign next to it i believe on the left side. Press that and you can see all the sections you took. From there open each one and you should see at the top class average next to your grade. Calculate all 6 grades and divide by 6. Thats the average. Last time i checked, it was 74%
