Hey everyone, I know its early but I was just wondering who was going to apply for the 2015 Evening Nursing program. I have attempted to apply for the 2014 day program but was denied due to the fact that my "Chemistry" prerequisite class was unacceptable. Anyways, I was hoping we could all help each other out when the time comes.
Hi guys! So I plan on applying in the fall for the Evening nursing program, and I was wondering if any of you can give me any insight into the program. Is it do-able to be full time in the programs during the evening while maintaining a job during the day? Also, I just emailed someone in the department about the chemistry equivalency. I completed a higher level chemistry course than the one needed and I was wondering if anyone knew if this would be counted towards the pre-requisite of the chm-100 course required.
But, other than that if you can just let me know what to expect that would be great! I am also looking into the surgical tech program here as well, and I wanted to know (HONEST) opinions what would be my best option!
Hope to hear from you guys soon! Hope everything is going well for you!
Working full-time and going to school is definitely more difficult than I thought. My GPA was a 3.9 going into the program, and now I find myself discouraged more. I'd say be prepared to study in a way you never have before. Forget all the memorization, it won't get you anywhere. You need to KNOW the material. I'm not trying to scare you, just let you know the level of commitment you have to dedicate to the program. Every. Single. Day. Good luck!
Colette is right. Its not easy to work and go to school full time. Something will give way and you wont like it at all. Most of my classmates work full time and they make it work but again the majority of them are part time at school. A fulltime day job along with a fulltime school schedule is insane. I wont say its not doable but you will suffer alot. The programs not easy and there is alot to know in a short amount of time. Please consider how you will manage the heavy work load of nursing on top of your job along with your family (if any) and social life. A classmate of mine works fulltime and his grades are suffering. So think about it
Also, i believe your chem should be fine. What chem did you take?
