Bergen Community College Day Program

Published

So, I just got past my application with Bergen and have submitted to my background check. I know there is nothing there that is going to come up so I wanted to ask some questions about the test. Is it the NET test? For which ever test it is what is the best way to prepare for it.

If I get into the program I was wondering if anyone knew if my credits from a pervious college would transfer over or would i have to take the classes over. I have my math, psychology, sociology, and some other classes from a 4 year college I had gone to and left for the Bergen Nursing program because my previous school didn't have. If anyone has any sort of tis or anything I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Ashley

That's weird! I guess considering that the classes are so small though, it's actually not that suprising. I have the feeling the nursing groups stay sort of small and close-knit due to the fact that there aren't that many of us.

Managing time is going to be interesting for me. Thank God Bergen finally officially told me I don't have to take the Psych and English requirements since I've already done them. Still, between work and the nursing classes and Anatomy, it's going to be hard work. I'll have to sort everything out though.

I'm convinced that I'll work it out though. What about you? Think you're going to be able to work it out?

I think so...Im working full time at a bank and because of the school schedule, I going to have to work the night shift and close the bank everyday which is 8 pm and work every Sunday :( bummer!!!

But the good thing is, my branch is very slow which will give me time to study and at night my manager is not here anymore :D

I am sure it will be tough, but it will work, if people with kids and family can, so can I!!

I already told my fiance, I need a vacation from u for 2 years lol!!! But my family is incredibly supportive, which is a plus!!

Yeah I know how that is. With the school schedule as it is, I'll have to close most nights at work, which is 11 and 12 pm! Oh well, I have to work lol because I need to pay for nursing school. It's like a catch 22...

As you said though, if people with kids can do it then I certainly can manage. I'll just have to adjust how often I see my friends, etc. They'll understand.

My blackberry lets me be on this website wayyy too much lol.

I think we'll all be ok. It's nice to know we're all in the same boat with work and everything. I've heard so many people say that you can't work and do the Nursing Program... but we have to! And Isabella, you're planning a wedding too, right? Haha my head might explode. I have no idea how this is going to work out, but luckily my fiance and family are great too :) And at least we know we're not the only ones.

Wow a wedding! That's gotta be a lot of work...

It's an awesome thing that you both have supportive fiance's/families though!

Conveniently planned the wedding for June 2011 though.. so I will have graduation AND a wedding to celebrate in two years ;)

lol, that's cool!!

Wedding and graduation, that has got to be an exciting party!!!

We have not set the date yet due to many incertainties now...I have no idea how nursing school is going to be, and I can't even imagine planing a wedding and being a wife and a nurse student at the same time lol!!

Having a computer in front of me all day has gotten me addicted to this also :D

But I love it!!!

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to say hi and share some of the excitement of starting the Bergen Day nursing program this fall. My name is Michael and I am new to this site. I am registered in all 003 classes for this semester. Wanted to know if I will be joining anyone in any of my classes. Lookin' forward to hearing from you guys soon while I am learning this site. Thanks,

~Mike

Hey Mike!

My name is Jenn. I'm also registered for all 003 classes, so you'll be seeing a lot of me. Congrats and good luck. See you all in a few weeks :)

Hi I'm Isabella and I guess we will not have any class together :(

I'm registered to all 001 classes but that does not stop us from having study groups togheter ;)

We can contrast and compare lol!!!!

Can't wait to start! Did you get everything done yet?

Hello Jenn & Isabella. I like this website. Gives us a chance to get to know one another before the stress begins! So far, I have paid for my "practice kit", have CPR, Malpractice handed in, Physical complete. BUT, I do not have any personal health insurance yet :( I know the school offers a plan, but it is terrible. How about you guys? What do you have left to complete???

I personally have finished everything, even have all the books! I was too excited to procratisnate lol!!!

I thankfully have personal insurance through my dad's job, but if you can u can get the plan the school offers and it will be at least something until u can get something better, because they do require for you to show proof of insurance!

Be careful this website is incredibly addicting!!!! U will love to see what other people have to say!
