So, I just got past my application with Bergen and have submitted to my background check. I know there is nothing there that is going to come up so I wanted to ask some questions about the test. Is it the NET test? For which ever test it is what is the best way to prepare for it.
If I get into the program I was wondering if anyone knew if my credits from a pervious college would transfer over or would i have to take the classes over. I have my math, psychology, sociology, and some other classes from a 4 year college I had gone to and left for the Bergen Nursing program because my previous school didn't have. If anyone has any sort of tis or anything I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Ashley
Let me correct myself, after taking the exam and having my score compared to others, I made the cut. But I took the Accuplacer. This was the last time it was given I understand. I am in Level 2 now.
Not sure on how things are done now, but when I applied, the determining factor was the exam. I have friends with better GPAs than me, but didn't do as well on the exam, that were denied. One friend had a 3.8, and a few points below my score while I entered with a 3.4.
I thought everything would be considered. I guess this is why they told me, no letters of recommendation were necessary. The exam was the determining factor.
Now, things are different, just not sure how different besides the test itself. Now they use Hesi. I don't if your GPA makes any difference.

I understand your GPA will only get you considered. Meaning a certain GPA is required, not used in the final process.
You say now things are different.....but not sure how different. I am confused by this statement.
why are you saying anything is different other than what is known as in the exam change from Accuplacer to Hesi ?
raffinj - let's just say I did ok on the exam...didn't do as great as I wanted to. but it would make me feel good if like what you've mentioned on the previous thread that they would consider somebody with an 80%. There's also a current member here who got in with a 79% this fall semester but I think he/she got a high GPA.

I meant to say that I dont know if they will consider your GPA(if high) if you score a lower grade on your test(Hesi) on the final selection process.
As you know let's think positive.
Sidebar: if things don't work in your favor, call and see about a waiting list. Even after being accepted, there may be some that will have to wait until next term for whatever reason (ie. Money, family situation etc). Also there may be someone that does not have a clear background check. I have three people in my class that had deferred their enrollment, so others got in.
My fingers are crossed for your both !
