Hello?
I am wondering if anyone has started working at Bellevue Hospital Ctr in NYC as a NEW GRADUATE.
Could you tell me how long and how was the orientation?
I do not mind even if you started as an expereinced nurse.
Just want to have a sense of the hospital's work environment for novice nurses.
Thank you so much in advance!

If you work in the ED, the orientation is 6 months.

For those of you who started at Bellevue as a new graduate, any tips on getting an interview? I have a nurse recruiter contact and have submitted my resume etc directly to her. Any strategy tips? I am a BSN grad, EMT and have 3 years experience as a PCA. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

The recruiter at bellevue was my clinical instructor while i was in nursing school and i called her soon as i got my license and she told me they are not hiring at all.

Not only are they not hiring, as most if not all HHC hospitals are doing, but they are planning lots of lay offs that I am certain will include nurses. What very sad times these are, especially for those nurses looking for jobs. Apparently, the state is also looking to lay off loads of people, so I am certain this is just a domino effect from the economy that is supposed to be recovering but looks as grim as ever.
