Bellevue College 2011

We might as well start getting to know eachother; since will spend the next 2 years together. Congrats to all who were accepted! I am soooo excited to finally get into nursing school after all the pre-reqs.

I am 46, have two kids ( boys-24 and 14) and live in Ravensdale. I will be starting this fall and look forward to meeting every one.

Before you know it we will all be :nurse:'s.

Hi fellow soon-to-be nursing students! I am in for winter quarter. I've been working full-time and going to school full-time throughout the prerequisite process. It was such a relief to receive the acceptance letter!!!

All we had to do was pay the deposit and that takes care of our spot until the CNA certificate is due, correct?

You also need to set up your BC email and send an email to Chie. But that is the only other thing I can think of. I think we will get more instructions at orientation.

Congrats!

Is anyone applying for financial aid? If so, have you heard anything??

I applied for the FA in February. In May I sent them the requested educational plan signed by my advisor; however, they have not completed my application yet. Last year I received an Award letter at the end of June, so I think this year will be the same.

Hi Everyone!

I am in for Winter quarter...I am 32 years old and I worked full time while I did my prereqs at Seattle Central- and i live in Seattle.

I am a little nervous about the commute to the eastside! Is anyone else doing it? I was accepted to Seattle Central's nursing program too and am hoping I make the right decision between the two schools. Any advice from anyone who has talked to people?

Thanks and looking forward to meeting you all if I stick with the Bellevue plan! :)

So excited for thursday orientation! looking forward to meeting you all in person:)

Ok Fall cohorts...anyone else too shy to ask if anyone else at the orientation was on the chat? I asked one woman who's name looked like it could have been morphed into one of the screen names and she looked at me like I was crazy! I was too nervous to ask anyone else! It sure was a lot of information and I left feeling a bit overwhelmed, nervous and excited! Anyone else get the Thu/Fri evening clinical at Swedish? What group/letter are you? Anyone planning to take the 1 credit class offered to help start nursing school? Are we still going to post now that our identities might be revieled?

Also, reading starts in August! Who saw that one coming?

It's really starting to sink in that nursing school is a reality!

Shrub,

HI! I was there in the front row. I had on maroon and grey scrubs. I was going to address the class when she was finished but she was talking to people in the middle of the room and I didn't think I should interupt. (Didn't want to give her a bad impression from the start!)

I am in Team 2, group B. I am not planning on taking the nursing student class. I figure, if I made it this far I must know how to study, etc...

Shrub1997, Where did you find the info re: summer reading? nothing in my packet mentiones it... (or i am blind, both are possible.)

also, I created a google group for us if anyone is interested. It is restricted to students in our class. You cannot read the board or post until you are a member. Now that we know each other, a private board might be better. Just go to the page and "Apply for membership"(I have a list of everyones names from orientation so i can verify.) See you there!

We didn't get any reading material yet, she just mentioned that we would be getting information in an email in August with all the CNA information we needed to be familiar with before school starts. Nothing too frightening!

Thanks for starting the google group :) I'll head on over! I agree, private will be better! Is the group for fall and winter or just fall?

i think it should be just for fall. not trying to segregate it, but I have to moderate it. also, keeping it separated by start date makes sure the discussion sare relevent to the whole group and reduces spam. That is just my opinion, if the concensus is that it should be for both, that works for me. If someone from winter wants to start one i think that would be great!
