Bellevue College 2011

We might as well start getting to know eachother; since will spend the next 2 years together. Congrats to all who were accepted! I am soooo excited to finally get into nursing school after all the pre-reqs.

I am 46, have two kids ( boys-24 and 14) and live in Ravensdale. I will be starting this fall and look forward to meeting every one.

Before you know it we will all be :nurse:'s.

Did most of you do your prereqs at BC? Maybe we had classes together. I took A&P with Jones in spring 2009, then Anderson fall 2009, Micro with mauldin winter 2010 and Communications with Hurst winter 2010.

I took all BC pre-reqs. I had Novack A and P 1 and II (Winter 09, Sp 09) and Novack again for Micro (Su 09) Online Psych 200 (Sp 09) with Shreffer, Comm 280 hybrid Hurst (Fa 09) Chem 121 with Lyle Hybrid (W 09) Chem 131 (W 10 Sandhu) Nutrition 130 with Gold (Fa 09) Math 130 online Lowry (W 10) ... I think that's it, if you were in these, we may know each other! So, Hi!:coollook: I've been taking Spanish series this past year, 4 Q's.

I did most of my pre-reqs during my first college experience, but I did take a few at BC, all online though.

I just wanted to let you all know that I was just able to successfully log into the BC system and pay my deposit for the nursing program. Yay!!! It feels real now :)

Also registered for a weekend CNA class starting next week. Not fun, but at least it will be over with quickly enough.

I was able to pay mine this morning too! Thanks for posting that yours went through!

i still cannot pay...:( did you have to do anything special to make it work? it keeps saying invalid student ID. but i know it is right becasue i have checked/rechecked it about 400 times. how did you make it work?

i didn't do anything different, but when i emailed chie she said,

[color=#365f91]we will check the code status in your system and i will get back to you on nu 99.

[color=#365f91]i am not sure if she did something to make it work, but it worked for me this morning. if you still can't pay soon i would send her a quick email. we have to set up the bc student email account anyway and send her an email so she has our address, so you can do both at once, that is what i did. hope it works for you soon!

I wish I could help you, mine just went though. I would try e-mailing Chie and see if she can help or direct you to someone who can.

got it! Thanks for your help!

Hello all,

I'm 23 and graduated from UW in 2009 with a BA in Economics and Spanish. I started working in finance and it wasn't the right fit so I decided to go into nursing and took most of my prereqs at North but took the multicultural class online at Bellevue. I also did my CNA class last summer through the training institute in Shoreline with my clinicals at Seattle Keiro. It was a very good program that was inexpensive and quick. I really liked the nurses I had in skills lab, they prepared me well and I was even able to pass the state exam with only one foot working (I had fallen and got a severe foot sprain just an hour before the exam!), my right foot was the size of a football but I still managed to hobble around the room and finish everything in the alotted 25 minutes. So if anyone is wondering where to take their class, I would recommend that place. Anyway looking forward to meeting you all!

I did my CNA at the Training Institute in Shoreline too, as well as all my CNA certificates. I thought it was a great program. I waited almost 5 months to take my state exam and still passed on the first try. I felt really prepared. If you can't get into the BC program in time, I do recommend Shoreline.

I just talked to a gal who is in the 3rd quarter of the nursing program at Bellevue. She told me that it wasn't as hard as she thought it would be. The first quarter is mostly refresher of CNA applications. She said so far the 2nd quarter was the hardest, only because there is so much information, and the third quarter hasn't been too hard. She also said that she wasn't working and that she would probably have had a hard time if she did. She spent every moment outside of class studying.

She also told me that the instructors are great and very helpful. They even offer extra study sessions with the instructors themselves. I'm glad I was able to learn these things. I feel a little less stressed about the whole endeavor.

thanks for sharing that info!

i went to NATI in shoreline too. While they do focus more on assisted living than hospitals, it was still very informative and engaging (depending on the nights instructor:)) they are so flexible too. totally worth it.
