Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

Published

Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I would start one.

Is anyone else applying to BC for Fall 2014/Winter 2015 cohorts? I'm getting nervous with the deadline less than two months away. I did all my pre reqs there and it's my first choice school which probably adds to the nerves a bit. Are any of you finished with the application process yet? I think it's nice that this year, the background check is after the initial application just for the sake of saving money if I didn't score high enough on my TEAS to get in.

That's one thing I really like about Bellevue so far! They seem to be reasonably flexible. I applied at Pierce and they are SO strict. If you are missing one thing, they don't notify you, they just disqualify your application. It's pretty scary thinking about going through an intense program without reasonable accommodations!

Justdance,

Thats really scary!! I'm glad bellevue is so cooperative, or else my application would've been thrown out! They were so nice, I was sooo scared when I got the email this morning!

Hey everyone thanks for all the helpful bits of info! I just applied for 2014 as well. I got an 86.7% the first time on the TEAS and scored a lot worse the second time I took it on Tuesday..I was crushed. Do you all think the 86.7 will be good enough? My GPA isn't very high either so I was really hoping my TEAS score would be higher. It's going to be so hard to wait to hear back!! Good luck everyone!

@acrandall Last last two years, an 86.7 would be good enough to get you in. If you look at the hopeful forums from the last year, there was even a person who got in with an 80 from the wait list. I hear a lot of people say you need to aim for at least an 86, and you got that. That said, while it looks good for a Winter entry at the very least, each year really depends on the applicants.

@thriftykid and @asl2204 Would you mind sharing what score you got on the TEAS? If not no biggie....

No problem kkay, I got a 93.3 on the TEAS. I'm hoping that will be enough to get in, but since the range can change each year I am still nervous.

I got an 89.3! I too did a lot worse the second time I took it... Oops :). And thriftykid, I really don't think you have anything to worry about! Sounds like you've got the highest score in this forum!

...only in nursing can you get an A and still have to worry

@thriftykid and @asl2204 those are both really great scores! Thanks for sharing. I don't think either of you should be worried.

It's almost March...we are getting a little closer to finding out. Sort of... I have a feeling we probably won't hear until early May. I had to resubmit one of my immunization dates because it wasn't dark enough for them to read. Other than that I haven't heard anything.

Is anyone on here planning to apply to Everett CC? I attended their info session this month and they seem to really want their students to succeed. I am applying at Everett CC for Fall.

We are getting closer!! Kkay29, they also contacted me to submit a document. I feel like with my TEAS score (89.3) I am pretty secure to get into BC but I am going to look into applying to other schools just in case. I want to apply to everett CC but they have a pre-req class that i haven't taken. I think it was a sociology class or anthropology or communication.

I'm so eager to find out as well! Being as how I am south, I won't be applying to Everett, but I did apply to Seattle U (although I'm not even sure I can afford it) and I will apply to a couple schools south of Bellevue if need be. I've just been trying to cover all of my bases! I haven't heard anything lately but Chia did call me the Monday after the applications were due to let me know that mine was 'complete'. I'm planning to start a CNA course in a couple of weeks and am debating taking intercultural communications just in case I need it! I hope I don't jinx myself by doing so! Does anyone else still need their CNA license?
