Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone,

I have just applied to Bellevue College for Fall 2012/Winter 2013 and I just want to hear from anyone who has also applied there. What are your TEAS scores? Do you guys know when we will hear back regarding acceptance/ rejection letters? Is Bellevue College your first choice or are you guys spreading out your applications to other schools?

I just did. Good luck at Bellevue everyone!

Please don't lose hope, jammin. Just because you have accepted the spot at LWIT doesn't mean that you'll lose your spot at Bellevue. Hang in there and if a spot opens up (and I bet it will!) you will be starting with us.I wish you the best :)

Yeah, I'm sure you could always recant the LWIT spot if you get into Bellevue. I'm sure there's a line of people that will jump at the chance to be in your spot there.

Hi,

Started my CNA at Divine in Northgate. Very happy with my choice. Thanks to whoever recommended it.

Accepted for Fall BC ADN program

E-write completed Thursday: 12/12

Still to do:

1) Third (last) HepB shot in June

2) CNA class

Working on financial aid issues. "Show me the money" !!!

Congratulations Cura~ are you going to take the BC position or SU?

Congrats, Cura - see you in the fall!!

I'm starting CNA at Kamanga next weekend. Wish I could have done the Divine class, but conflict this weekend kept me from doing so. CyndyRD, glad you're happy with it - they seemed very kind on the phone when I was speaking with them. Hope I don't regret going to the other program!!!

Jenn,

Not 100% certain of the program I will matriculate in. I sent my SU MSN deposit in this week.

I'm going to complete the FAFSA soon and see what assistance SU is able to provide. At $620+ a credit it is a chunk of change for the 111-114 credits (not to mention the mortgage, medical insurance, living expenses, books & fees, etc), especially with the pending requirement of earning a DNP after the ARNP (MSN) in 2015. I don't intend to work until I drop dead paying off school loans.

I plan on taking the CNA at Divine for BC ADN program -- I sent an inquiry about the Weekend program in June/July today. Even if I decide to enter SU I should have the necessary weekends available for the few weeks needed after June 18 when the MSN program starts.

A friend of mine earned over $110K last year working for University Hospital with an ADN. 36 hours a week with Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Union job -- not an exempt/management position, although she has some higher level responsibilities. I think the ARNP jobs are usually exempt with rotating "call responsibility" on weekends and holidays, and the pay is nearly a wash with some of the union jobs when the differentials are added. The pay/hour for the union jobs appears to be better if you collect several/various differentials.

My passion is for the ARNP/DNP and working with the vulnerable elderly, but pragmatically speaking I also need to consider my family responsibilities in my decision. It is certainly cheaper to go the BC ADN/ UW Bothell BSN route, which I could manage without taking loans. I'm also concerned about the malpractice issues with ARNP/DNP. With a litigious culture it is likely to happen, and I know it would be an emotional train wreck regardless of the outcomes.

I'm spending a notable amount of time in prayer trying to clarify my decision and direction.

Good luck with what ever you choose and which ever school you end up going to. However, I do want to say a huge congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself in that you were accepted by THREE nursing schools. That takes a lot of hardwork and I wish you the best :).

Hi all. Is anyone else dealing with financial aid/loans? Just got a letter that I'm reaching my loan limits (took loans to cover pre-requisite classes, plus the pre-requisites to get into those pre-requisite classes). I'm meeting with an advisor for an educational plan, and it says to let them know if/when I changed my program of study (as soon as it's official/on paper I will). Just wondering if they extend those limits when we get into the nursing program, or if I'm on my own now and can't get more loans. (we'll manage somehow - I've worked too hard to NOT attend now!!!)..... Anyone else in the same situation? :uhoh3:

LOL Answered my own question once again. All figured out; just a matter of giving the fin. aid. office a copy of my acceptance letter when it shows up, so I can document that I'm changing programs. Whew!!! Now, those letters *should* be showing up fairly soon, correct?!?!?!

Should have it by May 21st!
