Has anyone done the WGU online RN to BSN program?
I hate to be a downer, but in the WGU BSN online "community", there is a statement at the top of the page that specifically states that nursing students must maintain employment in the nursing field/that requires nursing knowledge throughout the duration of the program.....

Hi - I'm in my final quarter - right now it's wine colored Cherokee scrubs (I don't have the exact style number with me); they will give you that information at orientation. Shoes were not specific; just black or white, I believe. You will also have to get an embroidered lab coat - again, info will be given at orientation :)

Unless things have changed from last year, you will need the second volume - it is very helpful for skills lab, as it takes you step-by-step through the skills

Breathe! I just completed year 1 with a teenager and a pre-teen! If you have a concern, ask the faculty - they are there to help you succeed! I am far more confident going into year 2, now that I know the faculty is so invested in our success. As for the nursing diagnosis book, I feel that Ackley is far more helpful than Cox. Best of luck!

Ccchristine5, if you're asking me, my cumulative GPA was 3.76; however, BC does not use GPA as a deciding factor. Unless it is changing this year, your TEAS score is the deciding factor. If there is a tie, then they start looking at GPA.

I'm just going to chime in and say, the ATI study guide was VERY valuable to me, and I wouldn't have gotten in without it (at least for fall). I'm just about finished first quarter at BC, and am loving the program. I scored a 92.7 on my TEAS, and from what I understand, was about right in the middle of the field for fall cohort. It's getting more and more competitive each year. Study hard!!

Thanks for the updates, Jeremy! I felt the same way - in a hurry to sign squares/get squares signed, and not really getting a chance to "meet" people. Oh well, you're right...we'll all know each other well by the time this is over! Lisa mentioned that BC is working on implementing a Bachelor's program; do you recall whether she said when that would be in place? Was planning on going to UW Bothell, but if BC is going to offer it, well, might as well just stay there! Do you think it might be easier if, once classes start, we get some sort of online closed group (FB/GooglePlus/something else) or just some sort of e-mail group to share class information? Just a thought.... Enjoy your last week before the insanity starts!

Can't believe it's almost time to get started! Sent my kids back to school this week, thinking, wow, only 2 weeks to go!! Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ready - I suppose I'm ready as I'll ever be!!!

For those starting in winter, lessons learned already!!! I went to get started on the modules, and realized I completely missed one of the required textbooks on our list! LOL! I consider myself pretty attentive to detail, but I suppose when there's a list that long, one is bound to miss something! Oh well, it's on its way now! Oh, and be prepared, calendars/schedules that you receive are subject to change!

Hi Margritamix! We had an orientation in June, where we were told we would receive the first couple of modules before school started. We received an email recently with the first 2 modules for the class. They included recommended reading and assignments. Not an overwhelming amount of work though. My preparation also includes notifying all of my family and friends that I will be pretty much unavailable for the next 2 years!!! LOL!!!

Great find, k.mims! What are their shipping rates/times like? I just picked up one set, so if I decide to get more, I'll be sure to check them out first!

Hey guys...it's been pretty quiet here lately! Just a heads up, in case you don't have your scrubs yet: I just stopped in at Life Uniforms (happened to be in the area, so thought I'd drop in and see what they had). Apparently they had some sort of shipping issue with Cherokee brands, so are having a hard time with keeping a good supply of some of their scrubs. (the way she explained it was a little confusing....) Anyways, obviously Acorn has their discount, so if you can, they're a better option, but if you are planning on looking at Life, you might have a bit of difficulty finding what you need. (I stopped at Acorn on the way home and picked up my scrubs though, so that's one more thing checked off my list!!) :)

I'm pretty sure we have to follow the regular BC guidelines. Unless you are on fin. aid/loans; then call the fin. aid office and request a defer; that will keep you registered until the funds come in. I'd call and make sure though....here's what the website says.... Fall quarter tuition and fees are due by August 15th. After August 15th, tuition and fees are due immediately. Be aware that your registration is not complete until payment is made and your classes may be dropped by the Registration Office. (Grace period: 7 calendar days from the first day you register for classes OR by the first day of the quarter, whichever comes first. There is no grace period once the quarter has begun.)

Actually, I believe this is just the book (correct me if I'm wrong!!!) Videos are separate on Amazon, though if you purchase as a package from the publisher's website, you can get a bit of a better price, plus they are offering free shipping. It's $144 for the package there.... (I prefer to order from Amazon when I can as I have Prime, so no shipping fees, plus much faster than most others...) :)
