  1. Has anyone done the WGU online RN to BSN program?

I hate to be a downer, but in the WGU BSN online "community", there is a statement at the top of the page that specifically states that nursing students must maintain employment in the nursing field/that requires nursing knowledge throughout the dura...
  2. Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

Hi - I'm in my final quarter - right now it's wine colored Cherokee scrubs (I don't have the exact style number with me); they will give you that information at orientation. Shoes were not specific; just black or white, I believe. You will also have ...
  3. Anyone applying for Bellevue College nursing 2013-2014 program?!

Unless things have changed from last year, you will need the second volume - it is very helpful for skills lab, as it takes you step-by-step through the skills
  4. Anyone applying for Bellevue College nursing 2013-2014 program?!

Breathe! I just completed year 1 with a teenager and a pre-teen! If you have a concern, ask the faculty - they are there to help you succeed! I am far more confident going into year 2, now that I know the faculty is so invested in our success. As fo...
  5. Anyone applying for Bellevue College nursing 2013-2014 program?!

Ccchristine5, if you're asking me, my cumulative GPA was 3.76; however, BC does not use GPA as a deciding factor. Unless it is changing this year, your TEAS score is the deciding factor. If there is a tie, then they start looking at GPA.
  6. Anyone applying for Bellevue College nursing 2013-2014 program?!

I'm just going to chime in and say, the ATI study guide was VERY valuable to me, and I wouldn't have gotten in without it (at least for fall). I'm just about finished first quarter at BC, and am loving the program. I scored a 92.7 on my TEAS, and f...

Thanks for the updates, Jeremy! I felt the same way - in a hurry to sign squares/get squares signed, and not really getting a chance to "meet" people. Oh well, you're right...we'll all know each other well by the time this is over! Lisa mentioned th...

Can't believe it's almost time to get started! Sent my kids back to school this week, thinking, wow, only 2 weeks to go!! Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ready - I suppose I'm ready as I'll ever be!!!
  9. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

For those starting in winter, lessons learned already!!! I went to get started on the modules, and realized I completely missed one of the required textbooks on our list! LOL! I consider myself pretty attentive to detail, but I suppose when there's ...
  10. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Hi Margritamix! We had an orientation in June, where we were told we would receive the first couple of modules before school started. We received an email recently with the first 2 modules for the class. They included recommended reading and assig...

Great find, k.mims! What are their shipping rates/times like? I just picked up one set, so if I decide to get more, I'll be sure to check them out first!
  12. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Wow that seems so much earlier than in years past! Perhaps theyre realizing that releasing $$ at the last minute only causes everyone more headaches!!
  13. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Hey guys...it's been pretty quiet here lately! Just a heads up, in case you don't have your scrubs yet: I just stopped in at Life Uniforms (happened to be in the area, so thought I'd drop in and see what they had). Apparently they had some sort o...

I'm pretty sure we have to follow the regular BC guidelines. Unless you are on fin. aid/loans; then call the fin. aid office and request a defer; that will keep you registered until the funds come in. I'd call and make sure though....here's what th...

Actually, I believe this is just the book (correct me if I'm wrong!!!) Videos are separate on Amazon, though if you purchase as a package from the publisher's website, you can get a bit of a better price, plus they are offering free shipping. It's ...
  16. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

I'm unable to get to my paperwork right now; is this book in addition to the list we received, or does it replace something on that list? Wow, I've already allocated a huge basket for all my books and supplies - crazy piles of stuff that we need!!
  17. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Yep, best to check on it and get the final word from Chie - I can't get to that information right now, but I think that's what I recall being said. Something about financial aid having to use a voucher for their books, and can only use it through th...
  18. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Hmm IIRC, we were only supposed to get them from the bookstore if we're on financial aid. If we're self-pay, I think we just pay for them either at our next orientation meeting (a week before we start) or on our first lab day. I want to say it's so...
  19. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Hi Grownuprosie! Any pointers/advice to us "newbies" would be greatly appreciated! We have our clinical information for fall quarter (VA); what types of clinicals have you done since? Have there been many students who have gotten on as nurse techs in...
  20. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Sounds good! I think I was sitting right in front of you. Nice to "meet" you!
  21. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Welcome! Were you at the orientation? I'll be starting in fall too....best of luck to you!
  22. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Hi BeeDub! My opinion is, after orientation, that if you have a boss who is VERY flexible and/or you are only planning on working weekends, it might work for you. We were told not to plan to work more than something like 15-20 hours a week. I kno...

Great idea on the wishlist! The list says 12th edition for the Davis' drug guide - I'm assuming that getting the newer edition will only help us in the long run, correct? I used the Kindle edition in the past for a few of my classes - very convenien...
  24. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

LOL "here shopping" wouldn't be very far from the truth! We used studyblue for flashcards only - not sure if there were other applications or not, but with micro and A and P, I felt that flashcards were the most effective. Might not be the case with...
  25. Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

Sounds great - have you ever tried StudyBlue? If so, is it a similar idea to that? We used it for our micro flashcards last year.
