Beebe Hospital

U.S.A. Delaware

Specializes in ICU, ER.

Would like info on pay, benefits, and working conditions.

A friend of mine works there as an RN and loves it. She graduated from their school, and started off at $24/hour and I think got a raise in 6 months to $25/hour or close to it. Says the benefits are awesome-worth checking out!

Specializes in LTC.

I am an LPN and work at a LTC facility. I started at $23 day shift/$25 for night shift. I heard Milford Hospital pays $36 for RN's. That's a surprise that Beebe pays their RN's so much less than a competitor.

WOW.....$36.00/hr at Milford must be the pay for an experienced nurse of many years. I do know that the starting salary at Kent General for a new graduate registered nurse is $24.50/hr.

Since Bayhealth is located in Dover (Kent General) and Milford, it would be very odd for there to be such a big difference in pay for the same job/license. Beebe School of Nursing graduate are certificate RNs when they pass the NCLEX. They get lots of clinical experience which is really good but are not paid as well as BSN-RN.

The LTC facilities train/get permission to allow their LPNs to do some of the duties of RNs. LPNs are better paid in LTC, then in the hospitals and many of the downstate hospitals are going away from using LPNs and hiring RNs. Home healthcare is also rapidly expanding here.
