Be Aware: Don't Go into Nursing

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

The economy will probably pick up but not enough to absorb the new grads. You think there will be more and more new grads each year? Yes. More than jobs available? yes. 3 times that amount in 5 years. You think old new grads will ahve a shot at these jobs in 5 years? Probably not. Just look at the statistics of how many nursing grads there are each year across the country getting licensed in each state. Its quadrupled since 5 years ago. There is no nursing shortage.

It was clear said person wasn't in nursing when they mentioned something about hand holding for a year before they are safe. HAHAHA aside from new grad programs, who actually gets orientation and a preceptor for a year?

Also I think a few people wanted this thread closed because it was made by someone not even in the profession they are advising against. That's kinda like me telling people not to become lawyers without every stepping foot in law school!

But yes the economy sucks for everyone. My sister is in business and she can barely find crap that's not somewhere near minimum wage and some of their orientation/training classes are longer than nursing ones.

Your thread is nothing new: do not go into nursing - Nursing for Nurses

Edit: If you can, let's try to let this thread die. It's no longer worth it.

Agree. And, since OP posted in the above link, will close this thread.
