BCTC Fall 2013 Applicants

Published

Hi all! Just wanted to see if there are any other BCTC applicants out there. I'm getting super anxious about hearing whether I got in or not, and didn't know if anyone else wanted to discuss our waiting time! Best of luck to everyone. ?

Every nursing student I talked to told me to read things I like this summer because it might be the last chance I get until I graduate! I'd do that and maybe look through the basics of dosage calc. I took a course this semester and we used this great workbook:

Calculation of Drug Dosages: A Work Text, 9e: Sheila J. Ogden RN MSN, Linda Fluharty RN MSN: 9780323077538: Amazon.com: Books

It's really really helpful and goes through all of the basics to begin with. IDK how BCTC is, but at EKU we will have to take a dosage calc test at orientation and before every semester so it can't hurt to practice :)

What course was it you took? Thats a great idea for a short summer course

Oops! It was NUR 200. For some reason I got the keyboarding class in my head.

I've given up reading for pleasure since starting back at school. Thanks for the link! I will definitely pick that up along with a NCLEX book, I'll grab my nursing book as soon as feasibly possible, and I think I might even grab a pharmacology book.

So is there anyone that's actually going to Lawrenceburg? Anyone that plans on working full time and going to nursing school? Would love to chat with some of my fellow future-nurses! :nurse:

I'm going to Cooper, and I HAVE to work full time unfortunately. Luckily, I'm a tech at Good Samaritan, so I'll only have to work three nights a week!

Hi! I think I was accepted to BCTC RN program 2013 Fall ....I have not received anything via postal mail BUT my SAS account 'Accepted?' status field says "yes" now and there is no alternate number listed.

Is this what your all's SAS 'Accepted' field states too??

Thank you all for responding ahead of time, I'm on pins and needles waiting for your responses.

That's exactly what mine says. There's a girl in one of my classes that is 31st on the waitlist, and hers says "no," but has a waitlist number beside the alternate number blank .

Hi and CONGRATS!!

Does your field next to (accepted?) say 'yes'??

Mine says 'yes' like above ...so does that mean I was accepted too and I should get a letter in the mail any day?

Thank you for your help -Jen

Thank you so so much!!! I can't tell toy how excited and thankful I am. I'm in tears! I will see you at Cooper ;0)

Stay in touch with me, it will be great to know someone!!

Jen

Yup. That's precisely what it says... A friend of mine called the admissions office to ensure that the "yes" meant that we were accepted, and they said it did!!

Congrats to you too!!!

Thank you so much!!

Please stay in touch! I'm so excited I think I posted this twice !

Be sure to check out the free book basket next to library. Was completely able to snag a Fundamentals of Nursing 7th edition and Community-Based Nursing, an introduction today! Couldn't believe my luck!
