BCIT September 2018 intake

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hello,

Have you guys heard anything from BCIT admissions yet? My anxiety is really high right now. I hate this period of uncertainty

Would you mind sharing your GPA and work/volunteer experience(s)?

I have close to about 150 credits with 2.9 cgpa. My pre-req GPA is either 3.6 or 3.4 depending if they accept my international credentials or not. I am currently working at two community mental health teams but I also work at long term care and acute care (VCH, PHC and FHA). I have been working in health care for 5 years. Since majority of my credentials are not from Canada, I don't know if this will affect my chances. Anyone else on the same boat?

Good luck to us!

I've also been shortlisted! 130 short-listed applicants and only 64 seats- now the anxiety kicks in. Good luck everyone!

Only 64 seats?? Did you email them to find out that number? Do you know how many applicants there were?

I was shortlisted as well! Congrats everyone! Does anyone know the total amount of applicants there were?

I got shortlisted as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wahoo!!!

Just checked my email! I have also been shortlisted! Now the stress begins, good luck to everyone reading this thread! :)

Got a response from the department:

360 total applications

260 met minimum requirements

130 short listed

64 seats available

I just got shortlisted too...yay for us

However, I feel bad for all the people who got rejected...

& also I feel extremely nervous....I am set to graduate from SFU this June and I really want to get into the nursing for September...I have never felt so desperate and so greedy at the same time...

Goodluck to everyone here =) wish you guys all the best. I didn't apply for the BCIT BSN program, but I am waitlisted at Langara BSN program for the September 2018 intake. I am wondering if anyone here got accepted in Langara, but looking forward to get accepted in BCIT instead. If you had a choice, would you pick BCIT OR LangarA? Just curious. Since I am on the waitlist in Langara, my only chance to get in is if people drop their spots once they get admitted to either BCIT or UBC. I know that the waiting game is tough but let's all be positive and hope for the best :)

Yay! Congrats to all that got short listed, I just got the e-mail yesterday and got short listed as well! I am in a similar boat to plsletmein, I have applied to KPU and BCIT and at this rate would prefer KPU due to proximity and having summers off. What has everyone heard of KPU's nursing program? Furthermore, does anyone know the actual schedule for BCIT's nursing program? My coworker started the program last September (2017) and said that she had summers off this summer, however, when you look at the actual program it doesn't seem as though that is the case...?

My friend is in the January 2018 intake and from what she has told me, you technically do have the summer off but you have to complete 2 elective courses, LIBS 7001 and LIBS 7002/7021 You won't graduate unless you have complete te two courses and most students take them in the summer time. However, you can always take them before the program starts. I completed LIBS 7001 and am going to take the second one this summer. Hope this helps?

I believe starting April 2018 it's year round, 9 consecutive semesters. YOu can see the schedule under 'courses' on the bcit website.
