  1. Just got an email from BCIT! I got accepted! I'm in tears😭
  2. I wish they'd inform us sooner if we're in or not, my anxiety is through the roof. I only have a few more days to accept my seat at Langara.. tight deadlines to say the least
  3. Hey, I didn't retake any of my prerequisite courses
  4. Hey, my GPA was 3.56 and thank you! Good luck to you as well!
  5. I was on the waitlist and I just received my acceptance! But I also applied and got short-listed for BCIT so let's see what happens here. I haven't accepted or declined my seat..
  6. Just finished my questionnaire in a little over an hour. The questions are not bad at all. For those who have not done the questionnaire, my advice would be to have Grammarly open and type out your answers there first! Grammar and punctuation are marked, so anything would help! Also, make your responses as personal as you can with your examples. Hope this helps someone. Good luck everyone!
  7. My friend is in the January 2018 intake and from what she has told me, you technically do have the summer off but you have to complete 2 elective courses, LIBS 7001 and LIBS 7002/7021 You won't graduate unless you have complete te two courses and most students take them in the summer time. However, you can always take them before the program starts. I completed LIBS 7001 and am going to take the second one this summer. Hope this helps?
  8. I've also been shortlisted! 130 short-listed applicants and only 64 seats- now the anxiety kicks in. Good luck everyone!
  9. Hi everyone! This is my first time applying to BCITs BSN program and I have a GPA of 3.56. I have work experience as an LPN at Surrey Memorial Hospital for the past 2 years and I completed LIBS 7001 in the fall. I have previous volunteer experience working with charity campaigns, such as Canadian Red Cross and Breakfast Club of Canada. I got 'waitlisted for career' at Langara, so I'm super anxious about knowing whether I'll be accepted or not at BCIT. Good luck to everyone!
  10. I just received an email and I'm also on the "standby waitlist". I've also applied to BCIT's September 2018 intake so I am also keeping my fingers crossed for that.
  11. Hey everyone, I am also applying for the September 2018 intake. My cumulative GPA is 3.56 and I recently upgraded my Pre-Calculus and got an A. I have 3 years work experience as an LPN at a hospital, and I took LIBS 7001 in the fall. Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone!
  12. Hey everyone! I was emailed this week to re-submit my transcripts (already had but that's cool) and notified to book my CASPer assessment! Eeek! I'm thinking of booking it for January since I will not be in school or have any other commitments. Anyone else?
  13. Hello fellow applicants! I was browsing and did not see a thread for the 2018 UBC BSN applicants so thought I'd start one. I am just finishing up my supplemental nursing application and hope to finish my application by the end of today and have already submitted my transcript. Just wanted to know who else is applying/GPA/past experiences with UBC/any tips or information for the application anyone wishes to share. A bit about myself.. I am currently an LPN working at a hospital and also work part-time in retail in a leadership role, I do not have a Bachelor's degree but am applying anyways (hoping my supplemental weighs heavy in my favour). I have a GPA of 3.55 and will have ~30 credits at the end of this Fall term. I have some volunteer experience working with companies during their charity campaigns and am hoping to do more volunteer work this year. I will also be applying to BCIT, Langara and Queen's University once their applications open up. Good luck to everyone and please share any information you're able too!
  14. Oh that's awesome. Thank you so much! I might consider UBC as an option now :)
  15. Sorry to chime in so late, but is UBC Vancouver's program a 4-year or 3-year continuous program?
