  1. Did you hear this from UBC advisors? It would be amazing to find out by the end of this month!
  2. Incorrect! You pay for them separately.
  3. Just to clarify, Langara will have a few people on a short list incase people choose different schools or don’t pay fees etc. That is considered a waitlist, however, it does not carry over. When the new applications for the next intake are considered, there is no waitlist.
  4. As of 2012 Langara does not keep a waitlist. I applied for there and bcit and got into both but accepted BCIT for Jan. As for the BCIT application, I do not hold a bachelors. I’m a nuclear med tech in the hospital with a two year technical diploma. BCIT looks at previous education, and work experience and then gpa. It’s really an entire package—the Casper exam, your application and then the personality quiz if you are short listed Its always worth a shot applying!
  5. Popping in from Jan 2020 at BCIT. BCIT has January, April and September intakes. Langara has January and September intakes. Neither BCIT or Langara keep wait lists, you just have to keep applying every intake till you get in. I’m not sure about intakes and waitlists elsewhere but I would recommend applying at a few different institutions for your BSN. Goodluck!
  6. Me too!!!!!! So excited to meet you guys!!!
  7. Have you guys heard anything back?
  8. My anxiety is crazy right now...totally utilizing my coping mechanisms, ha! From what I’ve read in past forums, we should find out in the next week or so. ?
  9. SHORTLISTED!!! Wow didn’t expect that at all.
  10. My fellow nursing prospects, I hope CASPer treated you well. Any idea when we find out if we’ve gotten in? What did you all apply with? As per the advisors at BCIT, I’m in the 8%’ers—I only have 32 credits, my cGPA is 3.6 but my overall GPA is lower because of two classes I was unable to complete over 10 years ago; however I’ve been a nuclear medicine tech for 12 years. I applied for nursing on a whim so let’s see what happens! Good luck everyone!!
  11. Don't mind at all! I have children and January would be too soon to arrange for childcare. I might apply for it anyway but truthfully, I am really hoping for April or even September.
  12. I'm planning on applying for the April 2019 intake also. My GPA is great and although I have 11 years of experience of working in the hospital, I will have only 30 credits when I apply. After speaking to a BCIT advisor, I was told this: The January 2017 class demographics are: 66% have degrees (the majority BSc) 28% have over 60 post-secondary credits 6% had between 27 and 59 credits - of this group every student had other factors in their application that boosted their standing, the majority being health-care related work experience. I hope I fit into the 6%.
