Hello,
Have you guys heard anything from BCIT admissions yet? My anxiety is really high right now. I hate this period of uncertainty
Would you mind sharing your GPA and work/volunteer experience(s)?
I have close to about 150 credits with 2.9 cgpa. My pre-req GPA is either 3.6 or 3.4 depending if they accept my international credentials or not. I am currently working at two community mental health teams but I also work at long term care and acute care (VCH, PHC and FHA). I have been working in health care for 5 years. Since majority of my credentials are not from Canada, I don't know if this will affect my chances. Anyone else on the same boat?
Good luck to us!
How did you guys prepare for the quiz?
I just thought of a couple different scenarios from my work/volunteer experience that I could apply to the four traits outlined in the quiz information document. I found the questions to be typical interview type questions. The hardest part for me was the time restriction as I'm a pretty slow writer!
Does anyone know when we hear back from BCIT after the quiz?
Just did my questionnaire yesterday! I talked with a friend who just started into the program in January and she, along with her classmates, said that the best way to approach each question is to use the STAR method and to make it very personal. The STAR method apparently means to describe a Situation, outline the Task at hand, explain any Action taken, and then the Response. Apparently, this method is also used for projects and assignments in the program as well. Hope this helps! I too talked about experiences at my two jobs and also discussed the time management skills and studying methods learnt as a university student!
Good luck to all of you :)
Just finished my questionnaire in a little over an hour. The questions are not bad at all. For those who have not done the questionnaire, my advice would be to have Grammarly open and type out your answers there first! Grammar and punctuation are marked, so anything would help! Also, make your responses as personal as you can with your examples. Hope this helps someone. Good luck everyone!
