As far as I know, you don't need to have any healthcare work experience, it just makes your application stand out a bit more. Customer service experience itself is good enough because it shows you can interact with people.

Hey wizkid! Nice to see a familiar username :') I've actually registered for an online LIBS 7001 class already for Winter 2019!
It's good to see a familiar name as well. I just got back from a month of vacation and I'm going to register for the LIBS7001 and 7002 classes online, while working on the side (just so I don't bore myself to death). I was told that it doesn't matter if we've completed the course when we apply for the September intake, they will have access to our records at BCIT so they will be able to check.
Hopefully we get in this coming intake! :)
Yeah that's what I'll be doing too! Working and taking LIBS 7001 :) that's what I heard as well so I figured I'd sign up for at least one. Hopefully we do too! Good luck!!

Hi everyone - quick question, has anyone applied with their midterm marks?
I am applying for this September 2019 intake - applying with 50 credits, average GPA and with 5 years of work experience as a Unit Clerk in different health care settings: acute, sub-acute, maternity, residential and community.
I have completed all of the pre-requisites but I am still in the process of upgrading my high school Math 11 and Chem 11 marks (I know, so sad lol).
As the deadline for the Fall intake is on Feb 28, is it possible to submit my midterm marks for Math 11 and Chem 11? Or I shouldn't even bother?
Thank you for taking the time to read this! :)

If you have university marks for both chem and math, you can use those to replace the high school marks. I did that for my chem 11, swapped it with my post secondary organic chem class. I don't think they allow midterm marks, but you should email them to be sure.

Hi everyone! I'm joining this forum quite late, as applications for the September 2019 intake are due in about two weeks. However, I am here nonetheless!
I am applying with a diploma from Douglas College, 41 credits from SFU, and 25 credits from UBC. I have work experience in the medical field as an optician and medical office assistant, and as a dance/ESL instructor. Further, I have volunteered at VGH with the geriatric community, and have volunteer experience with children.
My prerequisite grades range from B+ to A+.

I was also told that I could include my university level math and chem marks!
I wouldn't hesitate with emailing admissions about your questions! They are very helpful.
There's nothing to be ashamed about with upgrading your high school-level math and chem marks! I had terrible grades in high school, and also had to upgrade math, chem, and physics when I was 22, so I definitely know how you feel. I hope it helps knowing that you're not the only one who had to upgrade to move on!
Does anyone know approximately when we will hear back about admissions decisions?
