BCIT Nursing January 2015 Applicants

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I decided to start this thread for all the other eager nursing applicants just like myself! I am going back to Capilano University to take some Biology courses (Bio 112&Bio 113), Psychology (Psych 100 & 101), English 100, Sociology 100, and Philosophy 101. This is based on BCIT's new requirement for the 2014 intake! In addition to that, I have also been working for Vancouver Coastal Health as a Health Care Assistant for about 2-3 years now. I am looking at about 45-50 post secondary credits after I finish all the courses at Cap! I might take Libs 7001 on May 2014, then apply for the January 2015 intake!! Anyone else interested in BCIt Nursing program January 2015 intake?

i got shortlisted as well!!!

I got shortlisted as well! congrats to all of you who got accepted!

As for the questionnaires, does anyone know if the questions are like behavioral type of job interview questions such as "Tell me about a time when you handled a difficult customers...?" ah, I can't wait to get it done!

Hi Everyone,

I am applying to BCIT January 2015 intake too. I got shortlisted! I didn't know BCIT is offering conditional acceptance!! Congrats to those who got the offer! Does anyone who did the questionnaire like to share what they are like? How can we prepare for it?:)

I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I'm so excited to meet everyone already that I made a facebook group already.

You'll need to have your BCIT e-mail address connected to your account before you can find the group. Please join it when you're ready!

Search for: BCIT Nursing January 2015 Intake

I can PM you the link if you have trouble finding it. :)

Chiseen, this is a good idea! I've already sent a Facebook request!

Hi Chiseen! I've added my BCIT email to my fb account but the group still isn't showing up when I search. Maybe you could PM me? =)

Regarding the questionnaire, as far as I remember, I'd consider them similar to interview-like questions and the links they provided to prepare for them had more than enough info to give you an idea of what they may ask. There was also a 90-minute time limit and a 250 word limit, I guess to help simulate an actual interview and force you to be concise. I believe the other threads said about the same things so hopefully I'm not giving too much away =).

When I asked about the marks from the questionnaire before, they told me most people scored between 70-80 (not sure if that meant percent) but ya! there's not that big of a range so I think most people do pretty well. Try not to stress too much, reflect on some of your own past experiences, keep calm, and just do it! Good luck!

Also, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hello mortals

First time I applied was for Aug intake and I was put on holdlist, and I did not get in. Was pretty bummed about it.

Applied again, with a much more organized package and I got conditionally accepted. Gonna drop in tomorrow to give them my forms and pay the commitment fee.

And maybe a drink after that to celebrate a little bit. :)

Congrats, Markynaz!

If you use facebook, please join the group~ :)

Congrats again for those who got offers already!! And thanks for the tip on questionnaire. You guys are so encouraging! i guess i will take a deep breath and go for it! Good luck for those of you writing questionnaire this week! We are almost there.

Btw, does anyone know from previous year if we get to know the result earlier if we complete the questionnaire early?? Or do they announce the result after everyone finish writing? I just can't wait to get things done and hear the result!

They release acceptance offers all at once. Usually all in one day.

Hi everyone, I've been shortlisted too! For those who have done the questionnaire already (either for this intake or previous intakes), did anyone end up going over the time limit? Or does the system automatically submit your answers once the 90 min time limit is up? If it doesn't automatically submit, has it happened that anyone has went over the time limit?

Thanks!!

Congrats everyone!! I would also recommend joining the BCIT Nursing FB page! A lot of people (including myself) are selling used textbooks there!
