BCIT January 2018 Intake

Published

Hello everyone!

Now that the 2018 January applications are open, I thought that a thread should be started about it.

To those that are wondering, I'm applying with:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - A-

Psychology - A-

English - A-

Physics (elective 1) - A-

Philosophy (elective 2) - B

So, overall I'm applying with a 3.55 GPA. I have no previous degree, or relevant work experience. However, I do have relevant volunteer experiences.

I'm so nervous about my chances getting in. How are you guys feeling? What are your grades like?

Good luck to us all! :)

I can't nessessarily say what kind of answers received low scores but I received 63% on my last years attempt. I only know this because I asked once I was not offered a seat. They didn't say exactly why the low score but I do know that I ran out of time for thorough editing. So hopefully this year will be better.

@kkuit do they let you know your mark on the quiz? or do we have to ask

I don't think they tell you. I asked what I could improve on for my next application and they said the questionnaire is what hurt me

@kkuit do you remember how soon after you found out that you did not make the cut?

Me too :( i thought i had time to proofread my last question but unfortunately it caught me off-guard on how should i answer it. I didn't even have time to proofread once again. Btw did anyone use the STAR method when answering all questions??

Unfortunately I don't have the exact time line but I emailed questions about why I didn't get an offer 20 days after the questionnaire deadline so I assume we found out within 2 weeks.

I have 50-50 shot now. I messed up on my last answer, no idea what wrote. I was note able to explain properly and even worse didn't even had time to proof read. I am just praying now for a miracle.

i wonder if everyone had different questions

Just hope for the best and if you do not get accepted use it as motivation for next time! I definitely felt more confident a and prepared this time around. Good luck everyone! I can't wait to start seeing everyone post about their acceptance!!!

For short listing we were supposed to find out by the 10th and we found out by the 4th, so i'm wondering if it will be similar this time

Me too :( i thought i had time to proofread my last question but unfortunately it caught me off-guard on how should i answer it. I didn't even have time to proofread once again. Btw did anyone use the STAR method when answering all questions??

What is the STAR method?

What is the STAR method?

You can search it up but simple explanation would be that it stands for S-pecific situation, T-ask, A-ction, R-results and they are commonly used when answering behavioural-based interviews.
