Hey everyone, I know the BCIT January 2019 admission deadline is still a ways to go but I just wanted to know how many people are planning to apply, and also exchange some advice and questions with each other.
First off, I'd like to show you what I am applying with:
Highschool reqs
Precalc 12 - 99
CHEM 11 - 86
UNI reqs (UBC)
ENG112 - 74 (B)
PSYC101 - 72 (B)
CPSC - 86 (A)
STAT - 82 (A-)
A&P1 - TBD
A&P2 - TBD
I'm taking A&P in the Summer
experiences
- senior home (occupational therapy) volunteer
- first aid volunteer
- pharmacy assistant volunteer
Here are my questions:
Does BCIT determine your GPA based on your own university's grading scale? Or their own? And also, I'm not too sure about how to calculate GPA, since there are so many different scales online. Can anyone provide an accurate estimate of my GPA?
Does number of hours you've volunteered matter? Or do they consider it by months? Because I don't see a box where you input how many hours in the form.
How strong does my application look so far, and any advice?
Hi everyone - quick question, has anyone applied with their midterm marks?
I am applying for this September 2019 intake - applying with 50 credits, average GPA and with 5 years of work experience as a Unit Clerk in different health care settings: acute, sub-acute, maternity, residential and community.
I have completed all of the pre-requisites but I am still in the process of upgrading my high school Math 11 and Chem 11 marks (I know, so sad lol).
As the deadline for the Fall intake is on Feb 28, is it possible to submit my midterm marks for Math 11 and Chem 11? Or I shouldn't even bother?
Thank you for taking the time to read this! :)

on the BCIT BSN program page under 'Program Entry' it states:
"All Academic Foundations courses must be completed prior to application. Midterm grades are not accepted. Only official transcripts are to be submitted with your online application. An official BCIT transcript is not required." and Math 11 and Chem 11 are academic foundation courses, so it doesnt look like it

Hey Everyone, first of all, big congrats to everyone who got in!!!
I have a question for everyone as I am wondering what my chances are. I was waitlisted for January but did not get a seat. However, I got an email for top 15 for April. Has anyone received an offer from those who originally applied for January and had been put on the waitlist but got a seat for April?? I am wondering what my chances are for April or if a lot of people have been contacted and received a seat from the April waitlist. Thanks, guys for your help!

Hi! So, I was on the top 15 waitlist for January and I emailed the Nursing adviser about my chances of getting in. They replied saying that people on the top 15 waitlist who don't get in for January would automatically get accepted for April.
I'm assuming since you are on the top 15 for April, if you don't get a seat for April, they will automatically put you in for the September intake.
Hope that is the case!

Hey! I got moved over to the top 15 for April's intake after originally applying for January. Earlier today I got a call saying I was accepted! Hopefully you'll get a call soon too ?
