Hello future nurses,
I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!
For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.
I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!
Anyone else defer to August?
I'm pretty disappointed that bcit nursing cancelled the orientation in May.
I was on the hold list for January and went to their orientation in December and it was really informative.
We were able to meet and talk with bcit nursing students who are in the program and take a tour of bcit.
The students gave us some tips on buying textbooks and which ones that weren't needed.
Bcit also had a sale on scrubs and stethoscopes which was a great opportunity to save some money.
I was looking forward to meeting everyone in the August intake!
That's extremely disappointing, I was REALLY looking forward to meeting everyone(had I gotten accepted)...and Vana, that's a great idea! We can all meet up once we get our emails? (Hopefully this week sometime) I'm going to double check with the nursing department and ask them if we will still hear by May 10th, since they cancelled the orientation I'm hoping they won't extend the date or something. I will post here as soon as I hear anything so I can give you guys a heads up!
I have facebook, do you guys want the BCIT Nursing-August 2013 group to be created so we can all join and add eachother up or?..

I know. My family and friends have been asking me since the end of last year if I am accepted yet. They ask me all the time! I've been telling them over and over, "I won't find out until May"... but they keep on foretting and asking again! It hasn't made the waiting easier I tell ya...
