BCIT APRIL 2020

As today is the first day to apply to BCIT for April 2020, I thought I'd start up a forum!

Is anyone else having trouble applying today?? I get an error message saying "No intakes are available at this time. Check your program's Entry page to find out when to apply." But today is June 1st?? :(

Ya I agree, previous intakes have been very vocal about applying and accepting offers from other schools, but this intake not so much. I wasn't told I am Top 10 or 15 and they told me my “application will be reviewed for September”, but now I'm not so sure.

It will be reviewed? Does that mean it isn't for sure?

Exactly..what does that mean! I hate the uncertainty while my life is just at a stand still

Same! I have been missing out on things already because I can not confirm what is going to happen in a month and a half from now... I also have to let my work know whats going on and apply for student loans this is alot to think about

I agree, and apparently we have to reapply even if we on top 10 but it won’t let us reapply because it says there’s an active application so IDK

I just looked back to clarify and I have an email stating to me that "waitlist applicants that haven't heard as of April 27 will automatically be offered a seat for the sept 2020 intake. You do not have to reapply" the email I sent asked about the top 10 and that was the response I got. It's not even signed by anyone which is sort of odd but the response is from the nursing email. I know that's not really an answer for April but just trying to help ?

That actually really helps!! Thank you! At this point id rather go in September so I don't have to rush getting all the stuff done in a shorter time span

Thanks! but I emailed them and they said for September waitlist top 10 students they don’t 100% get a seat for the January intake so I’m not sure if it changed ...

I read in previous forums that sometimes they do do it and sometimes they don’t do it! Which seems kind of odd

I sent a follow up email for myself to clarify about reapplying if I was not moved off the waitlist for April 2020. The April intake is full, and all the students have payed their tuition.

I recommend everyone do the same.

so I emailed them, and they said it is unlikely anyone will drop at this point, as all of the students paid in full their tuition that was due last week. For those in the top 10 waitlist, they said "Should you still be on the waitlist when it is closed on April 24th, you will be guaranteed a seat in the class starting on September 8, 2020" and to plan for a sept start date!

I’m confused about the top 10 waitlist. I got an email back in November saying that I was on the top 15 waitlist for the April 2020 intake. Does anyone know if this is the same as the top 10? Will my application get submitted for September?

Oh I'm not too sure! I would email BCIT and ask!
