BCIT APRIL 2020

As today is the first day to apply to BCIT for April 2020, I thought I'd start up a forum!

Is anyone else having trouble applying today?? I get an error message saying "No intakes are available at this time. Check your program's Entry page to find out when to apply." But today is June 1st?? :(

Nope, just said “ your application was reviewed for September and unfortunately your final status is ‘non-accept’. Your file is now closed”. What I don't understand is why the September intake was already getting acceptances two weeks ago when they still had so many people on the waitlist for April

What do you mean by that? I want to know if this has happened to anyone else before because I have never heard of this happening. I think it is so unfair that now I have to pay again to apply and do the non-cognitive quiz again. They said I dont need to do the casper test again thank goodness.

like you should ask why it happened and inquire further ! cuz yah that’s really unfair

My file is closed and that I need to reapply. I cannot believe after sitting on a waitlist for five months, I have to reapply and start this process all over again. I wish they had warned us that this was a possibility, I was under the impression that if you were waitlisted than your application was accepted.

Yeah.. I got the same email as you ? This just seems really unfair that we had to wait for so long to get this kind of result...Little heads up would have been nice.. but ANYWAYS so I tried to reapply but for some reason, my status still says "waitlisted" so it won't let me reapply ? what do I do..

Oh noo sorry to hear that! Ya I think its so unfair that they technically accepted our application than took it back and accepted people who have applied after us. Doesnt seem right. I'm not surprised it won't let you apply cause they havent changed our application status yet. They better change that adap cause they only left us a few weeks to apply for January

This process makes no sense. I haven’t heard anything from BCIT. It still says I’m on the waitlist for April and I haven’t gotten anything else in mycommunication. In November I was told I was on the top 15 for the waitlist and I had a high chance of getting accepted. They really got my hopes up. This whole process has been so frustrating. I don’t want to have to do it again.

Yup I feel the exact same way.. they completely led us on and waisted our time. Also the only reason I know this info is because I reached out to them, so id email them if I were you. Makes me wonder how long they would have waited to tell us if I hadnt emailed them. Considering the application period for January 2021 is at the end of the month I find it sooo unorganized and unprofessional!

I know that if you were lower than top ten it was a possibility that you would not get a confirmed spot for September. I have heard in some semesters that even if you are top ten they won't guarantee you a spot in the following semester! I'm so sorry this happened to you guys ? thats so not fair

Have they communicated whats going to happen with the April nursing intake? I'm assuming it will be all online if possible or they will push it to September?
