Oh wow when did you do your panel interview? I’m in Fort Worth and was told interviews would be in March. Congrats tho that’s awesome you’ve already gotten an offer! I think I remember hearing at the online expo that base pay would be around $26.50 or $26.75 (can’t remember exactly) and residents are eligible for shift diffs and things like critical care pay, so I guess it depends on your specific unit.

Yea I’m in Fort Worth as well...I thought applications were open till the first week of March

@fernandag @HopefulTexanI have the benefit of being an employee of the unit I’ve been hired onto. So I did my recruiter call 2 weeks ago, and spoke with my manager the following about the job then the recruiter called and extended an offer.

Oh OK that makes more sense...and I think it all depends on unit and what hospital for start date. They’ll probably let you know once they start filling up more spots  is my guess ?

I was in the residency almost two years ago and if you guys have any questions, let me know I'd be happy to answer because I remember being as nervous as you guys

Hi I just wanted to know how long the hiring process took for you and did you have to sign a contract? Thank you

Thank you! I also want to know about the length of time for hiring, the contract and terms is applicable, and if you’ve stayed at the hospital/unit you were hired into as a resident? Appreciate the willingness to answer questions!

I forget exactly when I applied but I first got an email for part 1 of the interview process within a week. I was surprised but apparently a lot of people get this step.  This is the video interview.  I did that and then it maybe took about two weeks to hear back again from a recruiter asking me which hospital/positions I would like to interview with for the second round.  They gave me the option for Float pool or a PCU.  I chose PCU because I wanted to start critical care ASAP.  I flew down for my interview where I met my managers and they walked me around the unit. And the recruiter called me by the afternoon that day to offer me the position.
I stayed on the unit for a while and recently transferred to another Baylor facility (easy process) because it was much closer to my new apt.

there’s really no contract or terms. You aren’t required to stay for x amt of time. There’s no bonus or penalty for staying or leaving. You start off With GN pay and get a $1 increase every 6m for 2 years as long as u stay with baylor.

Specializes in BSN student.

I applied on the 1st, submitted my video interview on the 2nd, and had an HR screening call on the 13th for Dallas area critical care. I was told that contacts for interviewing would be in beginning/mid march. Hopefully all goes well ?

This is similar to what I've experienced so far as well (applied for Fort Worth, Dallas, Grapevine). I applied, did video interview the next day and HR phone call a couple days later. Fingers crossed!

Man, I'm not feeling too hopeful then.  I applied on 2.2 did the video interview and submitted it in 2.3 and haven't heard a thing.  It seems that have already started interviews/screening other candidates.  I applied to L&D, NICU, and OR I believe.  And I think I chose fort worth, dallas and grapevine?
