Hi everyone! I know the application for the nurse residency program for BSWH opened up on 9/1/20 and figured that I would start a thread to update each other on it. Good luck

If you guys just applied and got video interviews, I would take it as a good sign. I have several friends who applied in the first 48 hours that haven’t gotten a video invitation or anything. They did say at the north Texas expo they next steps after video interviews might not happen until the application period closed. So if you’ve done a video and not heard anything, don’t lose hope. Even if you haven’t and you didn’t get an email telling you you’re no longer being considered, try not to lose hope. There’s still several days until the application closes. 
 

I think you are okay with waiting until after your test. I wanted to get mine done ASAP and that’s been almost three weeks ago and it hasn’t affected anything with getting a phone screen or not. 
 

I am interested to hear if any of you had your phone interviews what they said from there or if they have set the unit interviews up with you yet. I am anxious to get to that step but they do have 2000+ applications to get through, it could be awhile. 

I’m wondering that too. Also does anyone have tips on the video interview? I tend to stumble on my words when I’m nervous so I’m hoping I do okay! What types of questions do they ask and were they hard?

I had my phone screening for Round Rock and Lakeway a few days ago. It was basically confirming where you got your nursing degree, what your GPA is/was, location preference, specialty preference and if you have any certifications. He also offered to answer any questions I had.

He also mentioned that invitations to do the live video interviews with the hiring managers in the ATX region will go out mid October.

Practice before hand! I won't disclose the questions out of fairness to other applicants who didn't know them in advance, but if you Google common nursing interview questions and get pretty comfortable your answers to a few of those then you should be able to answer the ones in the video interview no problem! 

Remember the most important thing is to be yourself!

Anybody else gotten the invitation to set up a phone screen yet? I followed the link and clicked a date and time. However, I never got a confirmation email. Was wondering if this was normal. Does the recruiter just call your mobile number on that date/time?

A friend of mine, who did a phone screening with the DFW region, was told it depends on the unit.

I got a confirmation email. Maybe try signing up again in case you needed to press one more button?

That is what I'm planning to go for! I'm submitting my video in the morning and will update when/if I get a phone screening!

I applied for the college station and brenham location and had the phone screening and she told me that I would hear about an interview like first two weeks of October. IDK if that helps anyone! I waited like 3-4 days to do my video also. I accepted another offer tho so I won't be interviewing so more space for someone else!!

I am! But no word on a phone screen yet. I contacted them and they told me they probably wouldn’t send out phone screens until October?
