I had my interview on September 3, about two weeks after I submitted my application, and I just got my acceptance today! The whole process was pretty quick.

Specializes in STICU.

Thank you!! @Delta

And @FutureNURSE_Ada The interview questions were pretty straight forward: Why do you want to be a nurse? How do you study? How do you deal with conflict? Are you organized? And maybe a couple others. It was a 30-minute one-on-one interview with Dr. Hultquist, and it wasn't bad at all!

I just had my interview with this them this morning!! I submitted my application literally last week so I heard back super quick. She also mentioned I'd hear back from the school by the end of the month! The interview was really relaxed and they are all really nice and helpful!!

Does anyone have any concerns on financing this program? Do they give scholarships? 75K tuition is so much ?

@Sarah Antrich I had my interview last week ? but thank you!

@flows67 yes that is my concern too, it's so expensive. Aid is almost nonexistent for us

Hi everyone! Just curious, how much is the total cost of this program? I am looking into other ABSN programs!

@NurseJ97 It is 75,000. But the way I look at it is you are getting what you pay for. Talking to one of the interviewers, she has been running the program basically since its inception, she mentioned so many positives. Such as face to face with professors, an almost guarantee you will have a job within 6 months of graduating because of all the hospitals they are affiliated with, the networking you do and the chance to meet and work with the best nurses and hospitals in DALLAS. The low student to teacher ratio. NCLEX pass rate is incredible! You are getting a state of the art, no frills, nursing education. She mentioned they have their schedules down to a science, I am going to be honest, this is one of the biggest plusses I see about this program. I want to know what I am doing on a day to day basis, not be surprised.

Nursing is one of the most demanding jobs out there. You have to keep in mind that it isn't a joke to be a nurse, you are responsible for human lives on a daily basis. So an education that will no doubt give you the tools you need to be one of the best nurses out there, and that can propel you for further educational endeavors is priceless... obviously you have to work hard in the program and 1 year of nursing school is no joke. But if you are paying 75000+ for school I would think everyone is giving it their all!

She mentioned they have a financial aid guy that works with all the cohort students and that they do have people that give generously to the FASTBACC students, so there is possibility for grants and scholarships. The median pay for nurses in Texas can average around $73,000. Plus, a lot of employers offer incentives. Plus, you could join the military, that's another option if you want the government to pay for your loans! Nurses get paid really well in the military and their are always bonuses.

Personally, I will be taking loans and inquiring about the scholarships they do have. I do not have 75,000 dollars sitting in my bank account and will be joining active duty Air Force as a nurse once I graduate.

I don't know, I hope this helps you ?

Im pretty sure it is not 75,000.....its more like 63,000

@Tayler Perkes Perry That's the number Dr. Holtquist gave me. I thought it was close to that too, trust me. But during my interview she said it would be closer to 75,000.

my guess is she included the price of the various things we have to buy throughout the year... because everywhere I looked the price was the 60,000 ish you mentioned. I didn't think to ask =/

Gotcha! Either way its expensive..:/
