Baylor BSN 2014 Spring Applicants

Published

I was just wondering if there is anyone else applying for the 2014 spring program. It's my first time applying to a nursing school so I'm excited! My HESI is overall average 86% (not that great) and overall gpa 3.7, also I'd be considered a transfer student. Hope to hear from ya'll!

Haleysexton - I live in Addison too! I am concerned about that drive/traffic. I'm finishing my classes this semester at brookhaven..which is maybe 10 minutes from my couch to classroom!

Thanks for the info!

Guys! Anybody used Major books and ordered books already! Did the cost come to approx. $1330 (book plus e-text just the package Only Elsevier/Mosby/Saunders Books) after the 10% discount

my total came to be a little over $1600 if i were to use major, this is for the hardcopy version (I believe I learn better this way). Also including the medical supplies that we need, now i do not know if that price is with the 10% discount but its still really expensive

Thanks AsiaW, I agree it is very very expensise

First of all, congratulations to all of you joining the Baylor family in the spring! I graduated from the Fast-Bacc program in 2012 and absolutely loved my experience. You are in for a great ride!

Just wanted to share a word of advice on buying the books - if you do decide to go with an outside vendor, just keep in mind that many of your classes may require the online course codes (for resources, quizzes, case studies, etc.) that are sold with new books. If you buy the books used, you will end up having to purchase those codes, which can end up being nearly as expensive as just buying the books new in the first place. Several folks in my class got caught by that, so just wanted to share!

I work in the tutoring center on some of my days off, and occasionally help with the organized exam reviews, so I may get to meet some of you eventually! Good luck to you all!

Thank you so much for the helpful information

Yes thank you for the info!! :)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that there is a Facebook page specifically for J1 students starting in January. Some of the seniors in charge of our like our oreintation and stuff created it. I know a few of you were inquiring about a facebook page.As of now there are only 40 students added to the group. It's a closed group so if you private message me I could try to find you on fb and add you to the group. It was just created about a week ago. Btw I'm also a future J1 starting in January and being able to message some of the current students on fb and gain information from this forum has been extremely helpful.

Has anyone else thought about buying the other required books that are not in the bundle by another source... Debating if I should...

I got the package from Major books. There were only 2 books that were required for the first semester, that was not part of the package and I got those 2 from Amazon.
