Baylor BSN 2014 Spring Applicants

Published

I was just wondering if there is anyone else applying for the 2014 spring program. It's my first time applying to a nursing school so I'm excited! My HESI is overall average 86% (not that great) and overall gpa 3.7, also I'd be considered a transfer student. Hope to hear from ya'll!

Yay! I have a saturday clinical but I requested one! Works better for my situation. I am excited to meet everyone, maybe we can get together over the break? I believe I am free after Dec. 10th...let me know what works for you guys.

bstillo, When I sopke to DeDe Henson, she told me that we would get an opportunity to swap clinicals at Orientation( if some body want to swap it with you.) So you have that option of swapping with another person who has a Thursday clinical

Yeah I know, but thats if someone wants to ..

bstillo, I actually have a Thursday clinical and I am willing to swap with you, if u want. We'll see how it works out during the orientation.

This may sound crazy, has anyone looked at getting books on amazon? I always do, but I know we need so many...I'm calculating it now to see how much cheaper itd be...Dont know if its worth the hassle though:/ Im not taking out student loans so anywhere I can save money I will :)

help!!! im so confused when it comes to this whole ordering books deal..im looking at everything now and i see that some books are packaged while the others we have to buy separately..ugh! i feel like im all over the place

AsiaW- I know exactly how you feel. I was like, we need 12-13 books for one semester? lol

However, I believe we can buy our books one semester at a time? I am not certain, but thats just what it looked like in the email where they break the book costs down by semester.. I looked up on amazon the books that we have to buy separately and they arent hard to find..and some are $2 or $5 depending on which book.

I am also all over the place, and dont know where to start on the books; if we should buy them all at one time, or just each semester? :nailbiting:

That would be awesome! Yeah let me know please

Thank you!

well after looking over the book list i have found that we dont have to buy the books all at once and they have them categorized by semester so it doesnt look too bad...its just so overwhelming to compare and contrast whether to get the books from an outside vendor vs Majors...gggrrrrr >:-(

bstillo, we'll discuss this at orientation, I am willing to swap, if it does not affect my class schedule from monday to friday.

Hi Haleysexton, Thanks for the info. I also used this website to figure out the ratings, and booked an apartment at Richardson, the kids will go to Plano school district. Do u live around there? I am planning to use the Dart train from there (because saw reviews that the traffic will be very bad from Plano to Baylor and also unpredictable). I know it's 50 minutes from there. New to Dallas, will move end of December. So should try if it will work for me!!

Hey wantobe a RN,

I do not live in Plano, but I am very familiar with the area as that is where my sister lives. I would definitely suggest taking the dart. It is very true that the traffic is usually crazy no matter what time it is between Plano and Baylor! I will be living in Addison, which is about 15 minutes from Plano and Baylor (without traffic).
