Baton Rouge Community College Spring 18

This is a forum for students planning to apply to BRCC in Spring 18' for acceptance into the Fall 18' or Spring 19' semester. I'm just looking to get to know fellow prospects and/or future classmates. Anyone that wants to discuss comments/concerns about BRCC's Nursing Program.

Did you pass hesi? hopefully we will be friends when we both get accepted into the program :)

What classes are you taking now?

yes c: I took it on the 8th of this month or something.

I'm hoping I get accepted, it really depends on how my GPA finishes this semester.

Currently I'm taking A&P I, Microbiology and Psych II.

Nice!! Im in A&P 1 too! If I keep the grades I have now I will end with a 3.44 which is disappointing. I should have retaken math, but too late I already applied lol

As far as I know, that's still a very competitive GPA from reading around in the previous years. If I keep the grades I have right now, I'll finish with a 3.76, but I'm hoping I can raise my A&P grade a little more. x)

I've found this semester to be quite busy and challenging.

I have found the same! Statistics is kicking my butt! I have been so discouraged.

Here is a weird question... if you finished HESI in time, there was a critical thinking part they told you to do if you wanted. Did anyone on here or that yall know of do it?

I took the critical thinking portion. I found it annoying, and of course they made it so you can't see what your score is. I found it annoying because I had no previous experience in a hospital setting and did not know we would be requested to take it and had no idea I needed to even look over it briefly. :(

You can see what your score is. It doesnt have a percentage by it but you can click on it and it will give you a number out of 1000

Log into your evolve acct. and click the small plus to the left hand side it will give you drop down menu and you can click view results for critical thinking

I made a 860 in the critical thinking.

Elsevier taunts you by putting a recommended score: 900

So I did much better than expected.

That's awesome! Apparently the class average is a 531. I'm not sure if they're pulling that from the people who I took the test with or everyone from BRCC who took the HESI as a whole.

I'm glad you mentioned the class average. I was wondering about it too. My class average is 348, so it may be the average from the people taking the test that particular day.

Wow that's a huge disparity. I wonder if some of those people did not get to finish the critical thinking portion?
