What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing their experiences with being waitlisted for a CRNA program, sharing updates on the number of spots left and when they may hear back. Some members are also discussing changes to a course in the program and expressing hope and optimism about potentially getting off the waitlist.

Wanted to start thread because I have not come across a forum for the CRNA 2025 application deadline. Good luck to those applying!

Anyone planning on going to the open house this weekend in Miami?

Once your application has been submitted, how long does it take Barry to contact you for an interview?

Approx 84 years LOL

jk but I applied August 1, haven't heard a single thing.

Specializes in ICUs, OR, CCRN.

I know I'm late but I literally just submitted my app Monday, says received on NursingCAS but don't know if it'll make it before the deadline...

Just to give an example on deadlines and timeframes.

Applied 5/04/24

Verified 5/5/24

Inquired on 5/15/24 and let school know that I was retaking some undergrad sciences (Biology and AP2)

5/21/24 School informed me that the admission panel would like to see my new grades to inform me on decision in regards interview.

6/15/24: Grades submitted (As)

6/30/24: school let me know they received grades and I would be notified for interview invitation.

7/15/24: Interview invitation received

8/16/24: interviewed with Barry for the main Campus.

9/29/24: admission received.

From what I can gather is that they do these things in waves, I also have some colleagues who applied at the same time as me and they're still waiting to hear back for interviews. I hope this helps and good luck to everyone.

It was something like you have a 70kg patient and you need to give 0.6mg/kg of a medication, how many milligrams are you going to give? You have to do the math off the top of your head, no calculator

Thank you!! Hopefully I'll be joining you at the WPB campus next year!

Just got a call yesterday inviting me to an interview on October 25th for the Orlando campus. I applied back in July so it's been a loooong wait.

I thought you got accepted into USF?

Hi ya'll! I just got wait listed and was wondering if anyone else did and got in after? What was it like? Or what should I do in the meantime? It's all in God's hands. Things happen for a reason. Any info helps. Thank ya'll !

@AGG0620 when is this open house? Hey to meet Anesthesia panel?

I got waitlisted also! I plan on taking the GRE to show them that I have been working on myself since being waitlisted but also it opens the doors to apply to USF and other schools in Florida. Barry was the only school I applied to, this is my first time trying to apply to CRNA school, I'm hoping I get off the waitlist but if not take it with grace as a learning experience and I'm sure some school will take me.

Specializes in Critical Care.

Just got my acceptance call and letter today! Only applied to one school - Barry. Why you ask? Their program outcomes are immaculate and they produce many great CRNAs.

STATS

GPA 3.2 (retook OChem - A)

MICU/SICU/Neuro-CV ICU 4.5 years

ER 2 years

Currently in PreOp/PACU (developed relationships with Anesthesiologists/CRNA/AAs) Multiple shadowing experience without having the need to go through levels of approval. Simply came in on my day off and ask the Anesthesiologist running the board if I can shadow in which they appoint me to my favorite ones.

Good luck on your interviews! And those feeling discouraged or wait listed. Trust the process, reach out for feedback in regards to your interview and a great resource I recommend to check out is Diversity CRNA!! I attended back in 2019!

@ICUDOYOUSEEME

Yeah, sad but I have to let it be. I will work on other things to improve and add to my profile and maybe reach out to follow up. Barry was the only one I want to get into since it's local to me, but at least I know the interview process and got one down and out the way which prepared me for another one. I need to woozaaa and try again. We will be CRNAs.

@SRNAtoCRNA2028

Congrats! 🎉 I knew I did poorly on my interview. I should have done a mock prior, and my nerves got the best of me. All I had to do was be myself. Now to improve my profile. I will continue to work on adding a few things and will continue to shadow.

Congrats again! Hope I get a call stating im off the wait-list and accepted!
