I was thinking of bar tending during nursing school so that way I have the flexibility of working different shifts and make good money in tips while doing so. I guess the only concern is not having benefits..
Any thoughts?

I worked as a bartender on the weekends all through nursing school.

More dough. The economists tell me that if you have the looks, the increase in tips as a waitress is significantly higher than if you were a mere bartender. There is also money on the side if you leave your booking information with interested customers.

Absolutely depends on where you go. A lot of my coworkers got jobs bar tending weddings and other events. It depends on your schedule as well. Bars may be more flexible (and some are only open thurs-sat nights).

I waited tables and braided hair to financially support myself through nursing school. As bad as it may sound, I also did assignments, math homework, and wrote papers for non-nursing, lower level students who were too lazy to do their own work. There is a hustle out there for everyone. You should be fine being a bartender throughout nursing school. The last semester is the most expensive in my experience.
Best of luck!
