Hello!
I just thought to make this thread for anyone applying to the Baldwin-Wallace ABSN program for Fall 2020. Please feel free to share tips and pointers for a successful application process and possibly acceptance.
Also if we do get in (which we will fingers-crossed), we can connect with each other and help one another out for things like finding a roommate and affordable places to live for those of us coming from out of state.

I’m getting married right before the program starts so I feel like living on campus would be a little weird but it’s hard to pass up since all the utilities are paid for and it’s fully furnished so we wouldn’t have to take a Uhaul from California. I looked at a few of the apartments nearby and they’re pretty run down.
Yeah, the furnishing and all paid utilities are very tempting. I was searching online too and did not like the options of the apartments I saw

No you should definitely talk about your achievements, that's what they want to hear! You don't have to say it in a braggy way but just tell them the things you've done and what you're proud of. Talk about the good qualities you have, like I said I am very organized and good with time-management, which would help me stay on top of things in the program. Mention if you have done any shadowing or have any healthcare experience which would give you a leg up.

Same! A few of the apartments I visited said that they would be $800 a month come August too. So I think we are leaning towards the grad housing option.

Hello everyone, I had my interview this past Wednesday. I feel like it went well and it did not go well at the same time LOL. I feel I answered some of the questions strongly and others not as well. Also, during the interview, I was told about the writing assignment and to send it in when I was done with it. This lead me to believe that I had the whole day to complete it because I was already sleepy as I was just coming back from my night shift at the hospital right before the interview.
As I was getting ready to sleep I decided to check my email again and I saw the email from Kate. It said I should send in my answer within 25 minutes of the timestamp of the email. I looked at the time stamp and it was already 17 minutes past which means I had 8 more minutes to send in my answer. Welp, I wrote a short (like 4 lines LOL) paragraph that summarized my thoughts on the writing assignment and sent it in but I still went over the time-limit I was given.
I don't know how that will affect my interview and also because I don't think I answered some questions strongly. Nevertheless, no matter how it goes, I'll be fine since I already have an acceptance from a different program.
Good luck to everyone else applying to this program!
PS: Not too pleased with their class schedule. My other program we have class and clinical 4 days a week I was told but B-W has labs on one day of the week bringing class time to a total of 5 days which isn't bad but it will be nice to get that one day to fully attack all assignments and rest as well
Hopefully that writing assignment doesn’t hurt you but I’m sure you’ll be fine. I wish they would have specified length and gave more time because I also feel like I didn’t write a lot but I feel like I got my point across which I hope is enough.
I also feel like my interview went pretty well but I didn’t love how I answered some of the questions. I’m super hopeful that I get in because this is the best option for me right now. I feel pretty confident but I’m trying not to get my hopes up.
Congrats on getting accepted into another program!

Fun fact, I was sure I mostly bombed the interview but they emailed me yesterday saying I have been accepted to the Program. I'm surprised and excited. Though the program is more expensive than the other one I was accepted too, my mom is absolutely convinced this is a better program LOL.

You should hear something by the end of the week because according to rachmarie, they meet on Fridays to discuss the applicants

Hey have you heard anything from the program yet?
No not yet unfortunately! I swear every email I get I’m hoping it’s that email! I got an email yesterday with the whole like “this is what fields our graduates are working in” and I emailed her and asked if there was any update on the admission decision but she hasn’t emailed back yet. I’m so nervous about it, I just want to know

After much deliberation, I decided to go with B-W instead!. Though more expensive, I have a strong feeling this program will prepare me to be a great nurse and I will excel at B-W. Somethings are worth the extra money?
