Hello!

I just thought to make this thread for anyone applying to the Baldwin-Wallace ABSN program for Fall 2020. Please feel free to share tips and pointers for a successful application process and possibly acceptance.

Also if we do get in (which we will fingers-crossed), we can connect with each other and help one another out for things like finding a roommate and affordable places to live for those of us coming from out of state.

Hi!

I just applied to the this program as well. Literally just submitted it though so haven't heard anything back yet.

Hey guys! I just got my acceptance email today :) I have also applied to Concordia University Irvine and Creighton's Phoenix campus but I was super impressed with what BW had to offer when I visited.

Hopefully these tips can help! I did my interview in person, it isn't a requirement but I flew in from Utah and they showed me around the nursing facilities. All the staff are so nice so try not to be too nervous for your interview, it was pretty relaxed. You'll interview with the nursing faculty and the head of admissions. They just wanted to get to know me and asked me questions like why I wanted to be a nurse and how my life experiences will help with nursing.

Good luck!! I hope you guys hear back soon!

Hi!! Congrats! How long after you applied did they send you anything regarding an interview or next steps? I just applied today so I know it’ll be a minute.

Thank you! I actually reached out to them after I applied about once a week to make sure they had gotten everything since some of my transcripts had to be sent by mail. Once they had received all my materials, I think it was about another week until they told me that I had gotten an interview. After your interview it takes about two weeks to hear back.

Ok awesome! I applied through NursingCAS so hopefully they have everything they need right now. Thanks and congrats again!

Good luck! Keep me updated ?

I also just got all my stuff done yesterday so I'll call them tomorrow to make sure they have everything and hoping to hear back from them about the interview. I applied to other schools that are cheaper but hearing about your experience touring with them and being impressed with what they have to offer, I must say I'm kinda leaning towards them

Where else have you applied? ? Yeah I was super impressed honestly, I especially liked that they give you a week off in Thanksgiving, three weeks for Christmas, and 5-6 weeks off during summer! (Someone else told me 7-8 weeks in the summer though so not sure which one is correct). They told me they used to be a 12 month program but switched to 15 so they could follow the academic calendar of the school and give students breaks. The other schools I am looking at only give you a few days off total so I feel like this is much more manageable.

Lol woowww that's nice! No wonder the program lasts 16 months and those breaks are awesome, I thought they wouldn't have any breaks. I'm applying to Arkansas State University and it is a 13-month program so I'm expecting little to no breaks. Initially, I thought oh well, might as well get it done and over with but breaks are sure nice. Also applied to Edinboro State University and it's a 3 semester program but I did not know they take the whole summer off making the program last 18 months

Same, at first I was just looking for 12 month programs to get it done as quickly as possible but 3 more months really isn't going to make much of a difference and I can keep my sanity ?

True! The only reason I would go with the other schools at this point would be the cost. Arkansas is about $10,000 cheaper than BW and I’m taking out loans to get my ABSN
