Bakersfield College Spring 2015

Published

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else has applied to Bakersfield college for Spring 2015.?... This is my first time applying so feeling a little anxious. I am a LVN but have applied to both the bridge program and traditional 2 year ADN program. Whichever seat I get I would be glad to have at this point since I've been going to school part-time and working full-time for about 8 years.

Anyone else waiting just curious if you know the waiting period to hear back any news on the applications, when do you take Teas test, you know just hoping to hear from someone else waiting to hear back from the department..

Good luck to those out there applying for a nursing program and experiencing anxieties like myself to hear some news!!

UPDATE: a friend of a friend was accepted via phone call yesterday afternoon....has anyone heard anything? I'm a tad confused because she said she wasn't an alternate and was chosen in the lotto and that alternates are only chosen when someone doesn't pass the TEAS exam for example. Therefore, alternates aren't chosen until after initial acceptance letters. Why she got a phone call is beyond me. She was told there is no wait list also, fyi. So much confusion. I have not yet received anything in the mail. Has anyone gotten a letter or a call? Let me know , please! At this point I'm just worried something has happened with my application or it was lost because I am not getting any answers. I understand being behind due to an employee quitting, but really this is a serious matter. This is our future. I'm just worried sick.

I haven't heard anything yet, and nothing in the mail as of yesterday. I am going to pick up my son from school and then to check today's mail. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. I'm anxious to call but end up putting the phone down every time. Anyhow. I just think we need to hang in there. It should be soon that everyone starts to hear back :-)

I have not hear anything. Will let you know.

I received a call from the nursing office. They offer me the remediation program, I'm quite upset, but I have an appointment tomorrow with the nursing office. They say they will explain the remediation program. Good luck to all of you. I'm a bit disappointed at myself :(

So, I guess if we haven't received a rejection letter in the mail... then, it's a good thing, right?! :-)

Yes I guess is a good thing. Good luck :)

I'm attending bakersfield college. It is a lottery system & many wait 2 years, some get in on the first try. The TEAS test is taken once you have been accepted into the program.

I think the remediation program is great opportunity. Congrats on the call back!

Thank you. Sanddollar29

I broke down and called today. They said letters some letters will go out to be delivered next week and the rest by the end of October. It makes me wonder since they have been short staffed, that if they are making calls to those who were accepted because it is so late. I mean those who are accepted have requirements they must meet before they get their seat and before alternates or waitlist candidates can be considered. Those others will not receive a call rather only a letter at the end of the month. I know I'm over analyzing the situation but why else would they make calls to some people with their application status.

Samantha Elizabeth your friend of a friend who got the call, did they make plans for Teas testing or an appointment to go to the department? I wish I would get a call to tell me either way, either in or not. I'm so tired of the anxiety and to top it off friends and family randomly asking for an update on whether or not I have heard back from BC.

If I don't get in this time I am for sure going to apply for a sponsored seat with the hospitals, all of them!! And I was looking at classes for next semester wanting to take pathophysiology but looks like it's not being offered. Bummer!

Well here's to Thursday and almost the end of the work week. Hopefully those envelopes get sealed and put in the mail today and tomorrow.

Good luck again to everyone! !

I got a voicemail yesterday but couldn't hear it. I called back this morning and they told me they wanted to call and congratulate the people who were accepted! She said acceptance letter with other details are soon to follow in the mail. Since I passed my Teas (on first try) I should be good to go! Finally, some good news in my life! :-) -feeling pumped!

Congrats Caligirl!
